The ash ghoul seemed close to what i expected an ash vampire to look like so i just wondered...
If I'm wrong and you know the command i'd appreciate you posting it for me - thanks.
On a slightly related topic i wondered if anyone could fill me in on the whole dreamers, sleepers, a ascended sleepers relationship. The way i understand it from clues gleaned from the game (so far) and this forum Dagoth Ur can corrupt people through projecting some sort of mind control through dreams. Once an affected individual joins Dagoth Ur he starts to 'mutate' into an ash ghoul and eventually into an ascended sleeper - is this right?
What is it with those tentacles anyway? How does an ash ghoul see? Is it an eyestalk, a trunk, or something else?
An ash ghoul to me just looks like a dark elf with a tentacle sticking out of his face...
Why do they turn into ascended sleepers anyway - is this explained?

The way i understand it: The dreamer is the first stage, the sleeper is the second, then the ascended sleeper is the third. The final one is the lie, the lie that you will become a god like Dagoth Ur. The other stuff is just evil or stages of death that fit into the storyline. At least thats the way I understand it. I slapped one of the dreamers into reality and explained what would happen if she continued. She came out of the trance and thanked me for helping her.

I'm surprised you didn't ask who Dagoth Ur was. He was a good kid at one time but became corrupted by evil forces of power, greed, and corruption. This mystery will only be reveiled at the end of the game, but since your curiousity is so great....here is the real Dagoth Ur...ending spoiler below...

Hmm.. my best guess is:
Dreamer -> Sleeper -> Ash Slave -> Ash Zombie -> Ash Ghoul -> Ascended Sleeper
Ash Vampires are an entirely different matter, of course; they've supposedly been around since before Vivec was a god. And where "Dreamer Prophets" come in is anyone's guess... they're too rare to be a normal event.
As to what those tentacles are, they seem to be direct inheritors of Hollywood (one movie, whose title I forget, has the pineal gland as the "third eye" and it comes poking out of the forehead to do "psychic" phenomena).
Somewhere in the game (maybe Divath Fyr), it's explained that Corprus makes the subject's flesh malleable to their mental state; thus, individuals who cannot rise above the madness become corprus stalkers, and those who can join the whole Ash Slave, etc., chain of events. As to why they all turn like that, it's probably "Dagoth Ur's will".
