i havent played arx before, i mean arx falix but i was just wodnering in ur opinion, wats better and how whould u compare the 2 games + likes and dislikes about both games.
it looks pretty cool, so i might have 2 get it as long as there's a huge Mod comunity out there!:cheeky:

Well, the game you get here is the English version, so you might not like that considering your location and all.
It's a great single player game that is very different to Morrowind, so there is really no point in comparing the two games that much. But as far as mods are concerned, they never released an sdk, so there probably won't be any mods until then (if ever).

If you like claustrophobic underground tunnels get arx. If you like big open expanses get morrowind.

Is that all it comes down to then? So am I to assume that the world of Arx is lifeless and contains friendly automatons that dispense helpful information but have no personality (talkin' 'bout boring NPCs)?
I was considering getting it, but I do prefer that my games have some character.

Not at all. The NPC's you run across all have a personality and something interesting to say, the only problem with it is that you don't have branching dialog options like in most other PC RPG's. This isn't really Arx's strong suit though, if you're expecting deep NPC interaction then you'll be disappointed, but if you want a game with very thick atmosphere and character that focuses more on exploration and puzzles (and making pies) then you'll love it.

Morrowind is a great freeform game, Arx is a very concentrated, quite difficult game that is challenging for veteran rpg'ers (ie me ;) ). Arx feels more forlorn and moody, i consider it the superior product, MW is great but far too easy to play. Still as twisty said they are really chalk and cheese and whiel they look the same externally the modd and play style is completely different.

I prefer Morrowind by a long shot. Many, MANY more things to do, dozens of skills, a beautiful landscape which is a pleasure to look at and a lot of complex quests (in addition to the myriad of standard get-this-there errands, that's true).
Arx is level-based instead of freeform, loading games takes forever and the visuals are not - IMO - as beautiful. The story is more focused, though, because of MW's open-ended nature.
Not to say that Arx is a bad game, only that MW is my favourite.

Let's also not forget to reference Arx's unofficial progenitors... the Ultima Underworld games. If you liked them, you'll probably like Arx.
Edit: Whoops, just realised how old this thread is... :p
