That cinematic bug... it switches from a 3D cutscene to a kind of 2D panning mural at that point, so perhaps you don't have the appropriate video codec or some other system settings required to view the mural animation? Hopefully the full version will come with all the required software!! No, it's not a rendered movie (at least it certainly doesn't look like one) the whole intro is suppose to be rendering in the game engine.

Mine hung during installation (stayed at "Initializing"). I just let it sit for 20 minutes while I ate dinner and it installed correctly.
Other than that I've had absolutely no problems. This game is frizzly-fucking fantastic. The only game I can compare it to in atmosphere and immersion is Thief, and that's a damn good compliment. I'd go so far as to say it's Thief the RPG, in a different world (my character is mostly a sneaker-type). What a truly awesome game. :thumb:

Okay. I take back what I said earlier. The demo does not run smoother. It chugs. Perhaps worse than it did. Also, it won't let me enable EAX. The sound engine attempts to create echos but fails, causing the whole game to drag, and make a whole lotta noise.
The movment is still aweful. Not once did I feel like I was actually walking on solid ground.
Also, why on earth did they bother with bump-mapping? It barely noticable. All the textures have been made the old-fashion way, with highlights already on the texture. There are so many other things that need attention. Lighting/shadows, animation and physics for instance.
I'm sorry for being so harsh but, there's not much point in me kissing the developers arses. It's a great game, the item/object system is great. And I bet the story is too. I just wouldn't be able to get passed the awkwardness of the game engine.
I'm also pissed because I couldn't use that level 9 spell in the new demo.
