i thought it was fairly obvious myself...the more solid the Stealth icon is the more veild you are in shadow.
Then the Stealth key when pressed is just like the Creep key in Thief/Shock2, makes you move slower and thus your footsteps are softer. Also i'm assuming this is how you pick-pocket, hold down the Stealth key and double-click on the AI, right?

I forgot to answer your concerns regarding the cursor. I guess I just need to play the game a few more times to become more at ease with the movement/action system and see what might need some fixing. Since it's already so detailed, it's difficult to pinpoint everything down or rework it, but I'll see. I'm sure you've already had feedback from others on this as well. Unfortunately I can't even play the game at all past the intro since it crashes my system and prompts me to restart (WinME, P IV 1.7 GGHZ, 512 Megs DDR Ram, 40 Gig HD, Ge Force II 64 Megs Video, Creative 5.1 Live Value)

Wouldn't know - never used the creep key in both games. I just lightly tapped the normal walk key and slowly crept by/past the enemies.

Hey Raf. The dissapearing cursor is actually a bug that happens sometimes when you change pages in your journal. I don't think that anyone is complaining about it dissapearing in free-look mode. As you said, what would be the point of it remaining? But anyway, this thread isn't the place for bug discussion.

Raf ... see the fact that people have not commented on the combining of money with people as positive. I don't know how it was for others, but I thought it was straightforward and worked well. It was one of those things that came more or less naturally and, although basicaly very cool, doesn't strike as being worth a commentary. (You know ... a bit like walking Actually a complex task, but you don't think about it twice;)

Close, I messed around with this ealier today by cranking my stealth scores as high as they would go in the demo. What actually happens is that when you get close to someone a little backpack appears on screen near your items and memorized spells (lower left hand corner) and you double click on it to pick pocket. You don't need to have the stealth icon visible for this to happen, but if you attempt to pick pocket while in plain sight you'll get caught and everyone around you will turn hostile.

the only trouble I have regarding the cursor is that it's just jump out of the screen when goes in magic mode if you're not in the center of the screen (I don't understand why it had to jump at all as it's very annoying, so it's porbably a bug)
for the thread, I'd say only : it's a dream, you ARE in the game !

Wow, the developers are on a fan board taking suggestions! Really cool.
I'm pretty sure the magic mode cursor can go out of the visible screen -- kinda dumb, and confusing.
Also, what's up with the cursor when you're pushing things around? It jumps around like crazy, and there doesn't seem to be much correlation between the cursor and the object. While I got used to it, the first few times through I had trouble doing anything with it.
Also, the physics engine sems a bit screwy. Objects float more than fall, and they often get stuck on the walls.
This game rocks. Well, maybe not in its current state. When this game is released, it will rock. It will be super-awesome, I can just feel it. I have the same feeling with this demo as I do with the Thief demo. (Except for the buggy aspect, though.)
Finally -- will there be more demos, to reflect the improvments made to the interface, etc.? I'm not sure the current demo puts the game's best foot forward. We all have the advantage of being fans before the game is released, but some random guy will more than likely will be turned off from the game.

Yeah, i agree, an updated demo really should be released thats at the actual game quality. i've looked for forums on the internet reguarding Arx and for the most part of the users, most of them seemed really "turned off" by all the crashes and bugs....so i think it would be really wise to release an updated demo.

... but maybe after the game is released (like most of the games) : let them finish the most important issues !
