Games that are "moddable" are much more fun, especially if you have played them 3 times already. Communities get started on this. (and this means more sells of the game, e.g. more money to the developers)
Disallowing this is quite bad, especially since the "security" is not needed at all - there is only single-player, and *if* I want to cheat, I *will* cheat - whether the executable loads files from anywhere or not. It *might* be important for MP, but even there other mechanismns to make cheating harder exist.
This sounds like a bad decision and I really hope they reverse this. Otherwise, conversations of Arx will be *very* hard, and we all know that people like to make Cons and Mods.

Yes, "mod" feature must be! Otherwise Morrowind will always first... it have plug-ins, mods, scripts, so on.......
"Security"? Ha! Is it game or bank system? If I want break immersion and originality of game I DO it anyway -- has it security or not! But we dont want... really, dont... break game.
