Prolly delayed to include that "codec" for the cutscenes, that Shadowcat was talking about.... which means whomever is "mastering" the CD's had to re-adjust schedule for the change.

I really hope Arx will be released next week, since I'm having my autumn vacation, and I really could use a new game. This piece of news, obviously, makes me a bit pissed off, especially since I'm going to be extremely busy after the vacation (it's only a week).
Oh well. I wasn't planning on buying more than one game in the near future and I'm really looking towards Arx.
<small>Besides, it actually works on my PC. Which is somekind of an accomplishment.</small>

This is an update (Oct 28th I think was an exact day given for release)..
'Update: GameSpot says they were able to confirm with a JoWood representative that the US release date of Arx is indeed "the last week of October" rather than November 15.'

and the FAQ says wednesday 23rd for UK. an odd day indeed. still, its well known that retailers get the games several days before they get them on the shelves. you just have to ask nicely ........

Hehehe... funny to be on the other side... usually it's us french people who have to wait for the translated version to come out... ;) I actually spotted Arx Fatalis last week in a Micromania store...
Of course, I live in Lyon. You can hardly get any closer to Arkane Studios... (or to Infogrames' headquarters, for that matter).
I didn't buy it yet, 'cos I don't think that's quite my type of game, but I am still undecided...
Well, no matter how long you wait, an excellent game's always an excellent game... I still cannot believe that we got the french version of Thief II (it more or less went gold after LGS shut down. That was a long wait...).
