I'd like to ask Arkane guys about the original version of the game...
I'm French and most games that are released in France were previously translated into French.
The problem is that most of the time, the translation is done by morons and it's even better to play the buggy "warez" English version than the full French version.
For Arx, I REALLY WANT TO BUY THE GAME because Arkane guys deserve it.
But, I don't want a translated version!!!
I've read in this forum that the dialogs had already been recorded in English. So I guess the orginal version of the game is English.
However, Arkane Studios is a French company so I can hope that the French version will be of a good quality too.
My question is: if you intend to release a French version in France, are you going to monitor the French translation or will it be done by some incredibly bad translation company with word-to-word text translation and ridiculous voices?
Arx is gonna rule and I don't want it to be spoiled by a bad translation.

Hi 'man! ;) As you no doubts have read, it's Kemal Amarasingham from Floodgate Entertainment who is in charge of the audio work and Steven Russel, Garret's voice actor, will perform the voice of several character (but not the main one). Moreover European realeased is planned one months before the rest of the world. So the original version will be with no doubt an english one.
The voice of Garret is arguably one of the most well-done voice I have ever heard in a PC game. Although there's no need to follow lips movement through Garret's musings of what's going on, the french version, which I'm actually playing, is not spoiled at all !!!
So I'm confident for Arx -even if an english version would pleased me more! (btw, they thank TTLG in the french manual!)

I believe that Arkane wrote the base story themselves in french, Floodgate is in charge of the translation into english, and the english recording, possibly recording in any other languages, but I really don't know.
