Okay, a while back a cool taffer had some games to give away and I nabbed Arx, and I just installed it on my laptop today! I've been playing for a couple hours, cool stuff and nice atmosphere world so far. The interface is a bit clunky but I'm getting used to it. So far I like it.
What I'm wondering is if there are any tweaks I can do to improve the graphics. I have everything turned up and still get super smooth frame rate. I especially would like to extend the fog distance, since setting it to max is still way too close to me (spoiled by newer games). Can this be done?
The textures look great, but even better ones would be welcome. Newer models, whatever there is out there, I'll take it. Anything I can do?

Things didn't used to be this difficult. Moved to the Arx forum.

10 is the maximum setting that works in the config file as far as I'm aware. Personally speaking, I think that the fog adds greatly to this game's atmosphere and would be a shame to increase beyond this limit.

IIRC, some fog is deliberately dense, and won't dissolve, no matter what settings are specified.
On the modding front not a lot has been done, Arkane couldn't release an editor due to some contractual deals with the tool programmer(s?).
Dubs (last seen in (
