Speaking of bagpipes check these guys out: (
http://tartanic.net/) TARTANIC
We saw them this past year at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, and it was one helluva good show.
P.S. If you go to tartanic.com it says that they are no more...must have been the previous incarnation of the group.

You're assuming the local college (University of Arkansas in my case) doesn't also play Lynyrd Skynyrd and Lincoln Park all day long. :(

Couple of things:
1. "Down to Earth" is a great song and deserves to beat both Slumdog tracks (even though I like them immensely)
2. I don't know who thought an oscar song nominee medley was a good idea but they deserve to be thrown into an angry mob of hindus then crushed by into a compact cube of garbage
3. He ain't that full of integrity, he's still attending the Oscars, he'll still accept an award
4. I WANNA BEEEEEEEEEE YOUR SLEDGGGGEHAMMERRRRRRR
5. GET A LIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE WITH THE DREAMER'S DREAM

Here, where clear channel owns the airwaves, it's pretty much a rotation of Nickleback, Hinder, Nickleback, some band that sounds like Nickleback, then some more Nickelback. When we go to commercial it's usually a Nickleback song in the background.
Yeah radio does suck, I gave up a long time ago.
But in fairness did radio stations where you are play a lot of Pink Floyd and Rush in the 70's? I was under the impression that Pink Floyd were considered to be the death of rock for quite a while because of all the electronics involved in their records.

Also, fett, I suggest you go listen to Scenes from a Memory again, because it stops several times and is even broken into two acts.
The song "Through Her Eyes" ends act one and there's a whole normal pause there before going into "Home".
That plus the band themselves say it's not one song. You sir have been quelled.

Too bad 60% of The Ramones are dead. As this was a live gig, I'm sure they could have fitted 2 songs into those 65 seconds.

You're the first person to out DT me dethtoll. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Now that we've driven everyone from the thread, shall we discuss the finer points of Reb Beach's rhythm technique? Little Flower - avert your eyes.

I don't even LIKE Dream Theater, though a lot of it has to do with James Labia.

Well, at the time that Pink Floyd sold out, there were actually people who said "damn, even Pink Floyd sold out". Most of my older musician friends refer to the Dark Side--->Final Cut era as "disco Floyd", altho not having been there it's kinda hard to relate to that.
