I was doing homework for my social science class and came across this article about machines in our future. The similarities between some of the predictions and Deus Ex are uncanny, it's almost scary.
Anyways, I just thought I'd post the link because it sounds so closely related to the whole Deus Ex storyline.

Any thoughts on it?

That's because the storyline for Deus Ex was made around possible real world technologies in the future.

So I'm still searching; there are many more things to learn. Whether we are to succeed or fail, to survive or fall victim to these technologies, is not yet decided. I'm up late again - it's almost 6 am. I'm trying to imagine some better answers, to break the spell and free them from the stone.
( I didn't read it , not played deus Ex )

Well, it would probably take John Carmack 200 years to program a robot as smart as a two year old human child, and that would take up a lot of space. Lots of terrabytes peope:tsktsk: . So, to make robots smarter than us would make them haveto be huge. Therefore, they could not outnumber people. And also, if computers succeed us, it would not neccessarily mean our extinction. We succeed chimps, and they aren't extinct. My point is that I don't think we really haveto worry. Now people committing suicide because there is no longer any point in life, that's what we haveto worry about:erm:

You seem very optimistic. Dont computer chips get faster the "denser" they get, not the bigger they get? And chimps arent extinct because they arent a threat to us and our existence.
