Apparently if you aim a water or a gas arrow (possibly fire and others) while crouching in shallow water, if the water's deep enough, the arrow will activate before the arrow has been launched. What does this mean:
1: An exploit. Going around, putting out torches and fires without the arrow technically being used. You could even use a gas arrow to knock out anyone standing in the water (a crayman in my case). Of course, you'll take damage too.
2: Damage and or death (If you pull out an arrow that could hurt you). Gas arrows will explode if you aim it.
3: Hours of joyously mind-numbing work and toil for anyone who wishes to fix it. :joke:
Is this just related to NewDark or has this always been a thing?

Wow, I had never come across that in any of my many, many Thief runs.
Well, I can confirm it's working for both the original engine and NewDark. It's acts the same in both of them.
Now to think of a way to use this to potentially irritate some of the AI. :sly:

As deep as you can get in water while crouching is the optimal height to trigger this.

So if you stand in a puddle that just gets your feet wet and if you crouch down? Or does the water need to be a certain depth?

If you crouch and go deeper into the water, you will eventually stand up. You need to get as deep in the water as possible while still remaining in a crouched position.

I assume thes haspens when the arrow is created in Water. Dont have dromed Access right now, what we basically need is the arrow launch zOffset and garrets High.
Based on nvs measurements its 6 or 4 but what about the Center is it 3,2? And I trink with that we can calculate the critical Differenzen between launch Start and surface
