In east coast news, quite recently the DC city council approved a measure that will recognize gay marriages performed elsewhere. Congress gets the last say on what happens in DC. It'll be interesting to see whether Congressional republicans decide to go to bat over this one. I don't really think they will... the writing is on the wall and the days of straight-only marriage are numbered. Strategically speaking, Republicans are probably going to have much more success if they stay focused on the "big" stuff and don't get distracted by this kind of smaller side issue, especially since there's already some internal disagreement on the gay marriage thing.
