They can fight over this issue all they want but the sad (or happy?) truth is that in 10-20 years it's all going to be wasted breath and $$$ because statistics clearly show that the vast majority of young people in this nation support the idea of same sex marriage. I say 'they' referring to folks who believe strongly in something (fine by me) AND believe that everyone should abide by their rules just because they believe it (now you're an asshat)
the epitomy of irony is the fact that the people opposed to same sex marriage are opposed almost exclusively because it's a moral issue, and the irony is that they're trying to uphold morals by doing something completely immoral (lying through their teeth pretending like it's NOT a moral issue)

Yeah, NOM just reeks of intellectual/moral dishonesty a-gogo.

I agree with the ad 100%. In the great state of California, marriage is only recognized as between one man and one woman and will remain so. The people of California have spoken and Proposition 8 has passed.
Also, let us not forget that our beloved present President Obama and Sec. of State Hillary Clinton also believe as I about this matter. Bigots indeed. :erg:
That is all. :)

I have a particular hatred for the doctor one (which was used in come of the Yes on 8 ads as well).
If your religious beliefs would prevent you from giving treatment to any person or group of people, fuck you, you don't get to be a doctor. This isn't the fucking middle ages.
At least they didn't trot out the (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-jc4ujp9Ok) 'Gay marriage will infringe on my free speech because if it's legal then I won't be able to say I'm against it without being treated like a bigot' line. (about 44 seconds in)

I'm usually pretty mellow. I don't hate easily. I feel sorry for people and I tend to think that they were screwed up by their parents/society/etc. But this kind of po-faced bigotry... I consider it stupid, evil and hateful. I'd find it difficult to talk to someone who can hold these kinds of beliefs, to this extent, without wanting to punch some people in the face. And I pretty much think that dropping them all off on an island, walling it off and leaving them to their own devices would be the best for everyone involved. They can create their paradise on Earth and the rest of the world can go on with a bit less everyday insanity.

I don't think you need to punch or quarantine anyone. If these people actually knew some gays personally, that would probably go a long way.
And if maybe they're too old and stubborn to understand, their kids might get a better grasp on reality at least, by living around people of different creeds and affection.
Of course the ad is stupid but I doubt you'll convince anyone by telling them they're insane.
