I've owned Morrowind for awhile now, and have just gotten around to really starting the game. I actually played a bit about 8 months ago, but as with the preceeding Elder Scrolls games, I quickly got side-tracked and pretty much forgot about the main quest.
This time around, I'm actually trying to make some progress through the storyline. I've completed several fighters guild quests to up my level, and have gotten as far as getting the assignment to go to Vivec and talk with a few people about the 6th house and other such gobbldy-gook. I did have a great time exploring the dwemer ruins of Arkngthand, but I seem to have gotten stuck.
I chose The Tower as my sign, so I had no problem getting through any of the locks, but ran into a dead end at the "Deep Ore Mine" section of the ruins. There's an area at the end of a stone passage that contains a bridge and has apparently suffered a cave in. I can swim around a bit, and theres a platform and I can see a 2nd level here...I just can't get to it.
Is this the "end" of the dungeon, or is there more area I haven't covered? I got several peices of Dwemer armor here, and would like to get a complete set, so I don't want to miss anything.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Dwemer armor can be found in many places, so if you can't find a complete set in Arkngthand, don't be afraid to search elsewhere.
A good, cheap place to find Dwemer armor is the tower of Tel Vos. There's a Dwemer museum there, guarded by some high-level soldiers, but with a high enough Sneak rating, you should be able to pick it clean with no confrontation.
Is the problem that you can't find the
Puzzle Box, part of the quest given to you by Hasphat Antabolis of the Balmora Fighters Guild? Or do you just want to explore as much of Arkngthand as possible? If it's the former, it's in a totally different part of the dungeon than you're in. Do a Search of the forums to find detailed instructions on the location.
Unfortunately, I don't remember that part of the dungeon, or whether or not you can get to the 2nd level near the bridge. The cheapest and easiest way to find out would be to levitate there. You should be able to purchase Rising Force spells from Marayn Dren of the Balmora Mages Guild or Fevyn Ralen in the Waistworks, Telvanni Canton, Vivec. (Found those at the (

If you are after the puzzle box, it has frustrated many before you (myself included). I struggled to the very end of that complex as a low-level character toward no purpose. Go ahead; levitate to the upper levels of the flooded chamber. While you may find stuff of interest, there is not puzzle box in that part of the ruin. Go back to the sections there you encountered the bandits. Look around and you will find a section that you may have overlooked before.

I actually found the puzzle box within minutes of entering the dungeon, more out of luck than any skill on my part...I just happened to walk into the right room, right away. I turned it in long ago and have moved on in the storyline quest, however I've been back to the ruins a few times just to look around (and because I think it's got some of the best visual design in the game).
I just wanted to see if I have missed any sections at this point. Since I have The Tower as my sign (gives me a inate spell with open locks - 50) I didn't even have to go back and get the key that the quest line guy gives you.
So from the sound of things, there is more to see beyond the flooded chamber. I actually though of the levitation solution minutes after I made my post last night, but thanks for the advice. I found "ancient dwarven key" or some such item in the ruins awhile back, so I guess now I can go on looking for the door it opens.

Mind the flooded chamber. There are a few places where you can fall right out of the world. Very irritating.

I remember spending hourse trying to climb up there, convinced the puzzle box was just out of reach!!! :tsktsk:
The quick answer is there ain't a hell of a lot up there. Maybe a chest or two. Nothing exciting that's for sure...

Yup, that was a bit disapointing. After running back to buy a few levitation potions, I came back and levitated to the top. Okay, no doors or anything, but there is this huge chest, got to be something in there right?
Wrong.
One piece of scrap metal.
Wuwu!
Oh well, learned a valuable lesson anyway...never leave home without levitation potions.
