Maybe she could buy her own copy? Or wait for you to finish?

My specs:
AMD X2 3800 (2Gh dual core)
2Gb RAM
8800GTS (384Mb)
Runs smooth as silk (everything turned low, admittedly), loading times are maybe 15 seconds. Wasn't expecting that on a 7 year old machine.

Does anyone know if it is possible to play Dishonored in Windows XP?

I played it on my 6 year old machine that's pretty close in spec to yours, and I ran it in 1920x1080, everything on save vsync and rat shadows without much of a problem. It got a little framey in a couple of places, but otherwise ran about 25-50 FPS throughout.

Oh, the loading times on this are crazy fast. It's shocking actually.

Can we get a straight answer on this Stephen Russell thing? I didn't see him in the credits, and the boatman is credited as Ryan Cutrano. A quick google search seems to mostly return "I'm pissed that they left Stephen Russell out of this game" posts.
So which specific characters do people think he has voiced?

Yes, it works. (
http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/14/pc-system-requirements-for-dishonored/) Someone at Bethesda admitted it.

I don't really understand why Bethesda and Arkane are shooting themselves in the foot, like this. The minimum requirements they gave out are totally bogus. You don't need Windows Vista/7, and you don't need a high-end recent PC to play it decently.
In fact, GameStar magazine put together a chart showing which combination of CPU/GPU/Memory would allow Dishonored to be played at a decent resolution and frame rate. The minimum required to play the game decently is much, much lower than what Bethesda claimed.
Inline Image:
http://www.abload.de/img/bigimageqyzm8.jpgBasically, an Athlon X2 or equivalent, 8800GT or 4770 or equivalent, and 1 GB RAM, are enough to play Dishonored even at 1080p (though not with all details turned up full).
I came across (
http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1403824-pc-system-requirements-will-my-pc-run-dishonored/) this explanation on the Bethesda forums, as to why they deliberately quoted the minimum specs so high (even though they are bogus):
Quote:
Sarakyel, on 24 August 2012 - 04:39 AM, said:Depending on your playstyle, Dishonored will rely more heavily on CPU or GPU: play it super stealthy, combining together a lot of powers affecting your vision (such as Blink or Dark Vision) not to get caught, and you'll find yourself GPU bound pretty quickly on lower end cards. On the opposite, play it the brutal way, alerting and fighting every single AI on a map at the same time, and your CPU will suffer, especially if the game runs with 2 threads only.
The min spec were quite high on purpose, so that people experience a constantly smooth and stable game. Most of the time, the game will run great on lower systems for sure - especially if you give a try to lower display resolutions such as 1280x720 (720p) or 1280x800 - but you may experience framerate drops in some spots, which might end up hurting your gaming experience.
Edit: Our goal was to ensure 100% that if you have these specs, you will not only be able to launch the game but it will run smoothly on your PC. We're fighting against the legacy of min specs being the specs at which the game launches but then runs miserably for some of the users.

Maybe he wasn't involved. I didn't see the credits until I finished yesterday, I had just assumed it was him. It really sounds like him to me (Samuel the boatman that is). Then other people agreed so... lol.
And I forgot to look for him in the credits.
Maybe Ryan Cutrano just sounds a lot like him. In the first city mission to the left side in a back alley behind the doctors is a thug that I also sounds like Russel, maybe that is also Ryan. Also a guy near the end of the game in a cowboy type hat has to be the same actor.

I am enjoying this very much!
The only problem I have with this game is the RHCP bullshit nobody ever really warned me about - so far it is only a problem of different game on steam (i.e. different game steam id) but if patches or DLCs get delayed because of that I'll get mad
I heard this also happened with Borderlands 2, but it being a multiplayer enabled game gave the players an ammunition to stop that segregation.
