RobinG as in Saturio Returns Home RobinG?
Sorry that doesn't help answer your question though heh.
Just nice to see old faces around. Hope someone can help you.
I'm glad you still remember my twelve years old FM. Nice to see you too. ;)

I've just done the first mission.
Man, that was great.
If this sets the tone then I'm in for a treat. It took me ages. I don't know how many missions there are (and I don't want to) but I'm going to be taking more than 20hrs. I got all the side stuff except the money, killed some, non-lethal takedowns mostly and non-lethal mission completion. Actually, there was some valve in the yard I didn't use so there is more stuff to do. Did most though. Preeeeetty much what I do in Thief tbh.
Currently trying to explore the pub area with my enhanced Blink and Jump. Still can't get up that tower...

I've been taking my time and exploring every single area. Quite a few reloads to do stuff 'right', ie stealth but once in awhile i just killed a couple guys to not reload. But I'm at over 20 hours, getting close to the end I think. So yeah, just because some people have ran through it and finished fast doesn't mean the gameplay/time isn't there. (I've also missed quite a bit of loot and I don't see how, I have been scouring the maps_
Just like Thief series, people have done speed runs of those too, but nobody ever counted that as base gametime, kids are just getting so picky these days. You don't see the time complaints here, but over at Steam/dishonored forum there's a lot of it.

Just finished it. Took me three nights, twice staying up until 4-5 AM. Not strictly ghosting, but 100% non-lethal. Not sure of the hours, there didn't seem to be those stats available. Very long, but I still felt it could've been longer. There are only 8 real missions, plus the first training mission.

Yeah they shouldn't have added pointers for mission objectives or runes and charms. In fact, the Heart is a lot better without those. Both in mechanics and fun.

I like how the game doesn't make it overly obvious what the morally right choice is all the time. Just now Granny Rags wanted me to poison the Gang's elixir, but sneaking into their hideout I found a list of people they were selling the medicine to. Poisoning it would've killed a lot of innocent people as well when I really just wanted to take out the gang. So instead of using the poison I just killed them all the ol' fashioned way, with blade and bullet. Doubt Granny Rags is going to give me the Rune, but I feel like I made the right choice.

Well, they can be turned off completely in the menus or just toggled in the objectives screen. I liked toggling them because there was no 'new objective' text on screen like Thief. But when toggled an arrow would appear, then you can look at objectives and see what it was, then toggle it off.

If you do poison the distillery then you find out later that members of the gang have been helping themselves. When they come down with the plague that's how they find out the 'medicine' has been poisoned. So I don't think any innocents were harmed by your actions

I've been (
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=494894) reading some discussion, where someone has reported that Dishonored is playable somewhat below the so-called minimum PC requirements that Bethesda gave out. (I always called bullshit on those min. specs, simply because they were too close to the recommended specs.)
Here are Bethesda's minimum specs again, just for the record:
OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: 3.0 GHz dual core or better
Memory: 3 GB system RAM
Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
Sound: Windows compatible sound cardSomeone ran the game on his laptop with the following specs:
CPU: Core i5 2430M@2.6GHz
GPU: Nvidia GT 540M
Memory: 8 GBThe integrated mobile video is well below the minimum spec, and the i5-2430M is a dual core CPU also slightly below Bethesda's quoted minimum. But this person was able to run the game at 1366x768 with all graphics options high (except rat shadows), and FXAA on, getting 30-40 FPS on average.
Since the game is still playable with such a relatively weak GPU (compared to the GTX 460 asked for in the minimum spec.), and the GPU is probably the most important to the game's performance: I'm betting that meeting or being just slightly below the rest of the specs will also pan out for other people. I'm guessing that the amount of system and video RAM are the only places where you can't skimp out.
P.S. The discussion topic I linked above, also mentions tweaks that can be done to the game's .ini files, allowing the FOV to be set higher and to also increase the game's difficulty even further.
You guys were right. If anybody else is unsure about buying the game because their computer doesn't meet the requirements, try it anyway. The fastest machine I've got is a 2010 laptop (VAIO F, nVidia GT 330M, i7-720QM, 6GB) but it's enough to play Dishonored. I started playing yesterday and it's butter smooth at 1280x720 or 1360x768.
Unfortunately, it has a smudged, blurry look to it that only partly goes away at higher res. I tried native res (1920x1080) just to see what it looks like and it doesn't look that much better other than being a bit less blurry. Maybe it would look better in DX11, I'm stuck with 10.1.
Gameplay is pretty great so far though.

It's a DX9 game and you're running it on a pretty reasonable GFX processor with an i7 CPU. I'm personally not surprised it's running well on that setup. However, they have done a great job on optimising the game and general graphical performance and loading times of a second or two are bliss compared to other titles.
(I still don't like the selective environmental shadows but I guess a compromise had to be made somewhere)
