If you find it too easy, try handicapping yourself further.
I am considering a run for "Shadow", "Clean Hands" and "Mostly Flesh and Steel" together. Really tempted to go for all three on the first run, but then I won't get to fool around with all those powers ...
The long-retired Thief player inside me is screaming "Do it! Do it! Do it!"My next playthrough, I'm going to try to ghost it and do a no-blink run.
...cuz I think it's blink that makes this game way too easy. It's like "hey, see that window up there? ZOOOM! HA! I'M THERE!", or "see that guard sitting halfway across that very long room? ZOOM! *gak gak gak* hehe...ZOOM! NOW I HIDE YOUR BODY! I'M SNEAKY LIKE LIGHTNIN' ". It's not only nigh gamebreaking, but it's so damn fun to use, you can't stop yourself from abusing it.

If it would help, I could set up a Jomero paypal account that you have to pay me 50 cents every time you use blink. And you would know that your hard-earned money is being spent on cheap booze or something (ok I don't drink, but it wouldn't be toward a good cause).
:D

Funny that you say this.

From looking at those videos, it seems Blink is a very powerful ability. In fact, so powerful, I wonder if it would be possible (or practical) to finish the game without using Blink at all. Maybe in a few months we won't be talking about ghosting through the game, but getting through the game without using Blink ....
:)

I think it is quite possible to finish the game without relying on it. The levels are brilliantly constructed, and give you multiple routes and opportunities to go about achieving your goals. You don't have to use blink, you just do, cuz it's so damn fun.
I also thought of the one best way to describe the game...

Apparently the harder difficulties stop you from abusing it due to manna being more scarce.

Bwahaha. I just found a big old Thief reference!

I'm playing on hard, and it takes forever before I have to pop a mana potion. The orher spells are fairly well balanced, and difficult to abuse, save for it.
Keep in mind I'm not complaining here. I think the game is wonderful, and is actually starting to get a little difficult even with an over reliance on blink.

I suspect the main problem with Blink is, it recharges after every use if you don't immediately use it again. Cut that mechanic and you have to be a lot more sparing in how you use it.
Anyone else get a HL2 vibe the way the Weepers are just hanging out in abandoned buildings and back alleys right across the street from (ostensibly) healthy people?
