Did the devs at any point mention something about modding or a level editor or something like that?

So how big are the levels? Are we talking 'The Guild' and 'Bonehard' like or something much smaller and linear to accommodate today's gamers?
The missions themselves can cover a wide patch of ground -- I just finished one that took me from one end of a huge bridge -- the kind with shops and buildings on it, like in Str8G8's TDS fan mission -- to the other. Each mission is broken up into smaller maps, but they do a fine job of making the setting look bigger than it really is. That HL2 design aesthetic really shines here. And of course the individual maps can be quite large -- an entire TDS mission (both halves) would fit in one with room to spare, most of the time.

Feels way more like the city missions in T2. Much larger than the Skyrim cities, and I'm positive I've never seen such brilliant use of vertical space. Just stunning.

My only complaint with the game is that it's a little easy. Even without being able to blend into the shadows, Corvo has tons more tricks up his sleeves to help him get around without being detected. Course I've only now completed the Golden Cat (which I'm sure they wanted to call something else), so the game will probably get considerably more difficult once I'm a little farther in.
Other than that, this game is Thief 4 in everything but name. It looks quite a bit like Thief, feels a lot like Thief, and plays fairly similarly to Thief, with a tiny bit of DX thrown in for good measure. So far I think it's actually a little better than DX3, which was pretty damn good.
Okay, gonna shut up now. I wanna play some more.

This game unfortunately flew under my radar until last week. I even walked by its booth multiple time at PAX. I blame the cover art. I blew off the game as another "assassin's creed clone/prototype clone /hip-new-game-for-teenagers-with-lots-of-explosions" type of game.
It wasn't until I saw a dev diary where they talked about it taking place in a victorian-era london-ish town where steampunk-ish and supernatural elements abound. My Thief list went "Check, check, check, and CHECK!" And then the devs said they were heavily influenced by Thief... they had my full attention.
Playing this game definitely made my old Thief nerve tingle. True, you can't become 100% invisible just by standing in a shadow. According to the devs, the game originally played like Thief when it came to stealth. But they found it was just too unrealistic. And you know, I kind of agree. The shadows help you maintain stealth, but you need to obscure your silhouette if you want to remain hidden. I view it as yet another new challenge for an old Thief player.
I'm certainly having fun ghosting (mostly) this game. It reminds me of how I used to play Thief. There hasn't been a game that has brought back memories of Thief like this since, well, ever.
You can't see them because they are hidden in the shadows, but I am giving the game two thumbs up.

Would be great to get a level editor for this game!
Now I just need to buy the game...

Yeah, I was gonna try that the first time through but there some really tough spots. Think I'll have to learn the maps better first...
Did anyone figure out where a safe place for Curnow's body is? I tried to drop him everywhere including outside, but couldn't crack it.There is another option...
Before Curnow and the Overseer enter the dining room, you have some time to tamper with the wine.
The games gives you the option to do several things which include 1) switch glasses to poison the Overseer and save Curnow, 2) mix the glasses to poison both, 3) spill the glasses, and 4) do nothing).
If you spill both glasses like I did, the Overseer will become irritated and then apologize to Curnow for the apparent mistake. He will then invite Curnow to his basement office to break open a bottle of the "good stuff".
If you follow the two down there the Overseer will attempt to show Curnow his Sokolov painting. I already stole the piece so the Overseer seemed confused yet again. Then the Overseer instructed Curnow to look behind a particular shelf for the painting.
As Curnow was begining to search for the painting, the Overseer drew his sword at which point I knocked him out with a sleep dart. Curnow then thanked me and proceeded to make his escape from the building. Once he made it outside of the level I was notified that he had been rescued.

Okay, that's awesome. I'd just poisoned the Overseer. I love that there's more than just 2 options.
Also: anyone take out the mechanical heart and point it at folk and use it? Some of the stuff it says is downright creepy and disturbing, even if it sometimes repeats itself. I pointed it at a random city watch guard and the heart told me, "No one has ever mentioned the missing boys. He feels confident he's gotten away with it."
This game is unbelievably dark.

My only complaint with the game is that it's a little easy.
If you find it too easy, try handicapping yourself further.
I am considering a run for "Shadow", "Clean Hands" and "Mostly Flesh and Steel" together. Really tempted to go for all three on the first run, but then I won't get to fool around with all those powers ...
The long-retired Thief player inside me is screaming "Do it! Do it! Do it!"

Did the same....it told me that unless the guard died tonight, he would murder two more people and then kill himself within the next few days.
