Never played Arx Fatalis. Is that pre-order perk worth it?

I only played a little bit of the game just recently, and from what I've played it's pretty solid. I've played a good couple hours of the original Ultima Underworld, and it reminded me a lot of it. If you like that sort of game, I'd say it's worth getting it.

One week to go til Dishonored is released. I almost hate the fact that I'm getting excited and have such high hopes for this one.
This is a pretty good article (saw it on the Dishonored main site), with an interview from Raphael Colantonio, that talks about how it's inspired by games like Thief and System Shock and Deus Ex. Worth a look.

I am so excited :D
It has been a long time since I was so captivated by a game before release (Bioshock, Stalker for me I guess).
Good luck for the launch, I hope there will be no major problems, great critical and commercial success and of course a game that captures that feeling
I had when I first set foot in new worlds ripe for exploration and experimentation like Thief, System Shock and Stalker.

From looking at those videos, it seems Blink is a very powerful ability. In fact, so powerful, I wonder if it would be possible (or practical) to finish the game without using Blink at all. Maybe in a few months we won't be talking about ghosting through the game, but getting through the game without using Blink ....

It's Ultima Underworld 3 with a different title, so yeah, it's worth it.
BTW, here are the system requirements printed on the box, I think they differ slightly from what Arkane posted earlier (and there's no 'recommended' listed):
Requires internet Connection And Free Steam Account To Activate
Games For Windows
Enhanced For:
64-Bit / Multi-Core
System Requirements:
OS - Windows 7/Vista
Processor - 3.0gHz Dual Core Or Better
Memory - 3GB RAM / 9GB Free Hard Drive Space
Video Card - DirectX 9 Compatible With 512MB RAM Or Better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
Supports Parental Controls On Windows Vista & Windows 7
Supports Xbox 360 Controller For Windows
Increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems.

Steam
and GFWL? Why do people keep using GFWL? I've yet to have a single positive experience with it (or even hear anyone having a positive experience). It's got all the bad aspects of steam, except worse, and none of the positive aspects.
I know, dead horse flogging etc etc, but still.
Also, seconding Arx being worth it. It's buggy, but awesome. Also, doesn't require GFWL. ;)
EDIT: oh, apparently "Games for Windows" and "Games for Windows Live" are
entirely different things. My bad. Ho hum. Nothing to see here, move along etc.
EDITEDIT: in case anyone's curious: "games for windows" isn't a requirement for the end user, it's a requirement the game itself must meet, and means that the game meets lots of quite encouraging compatibility standards. (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Games_for_Windows) Like so.
So it's like a kitemark or "this product is certified to not contain asbestos", as opposed to a forced requirement to use the worst wrapper ever. Yay for microsoft marketing department. Possibly everyone knew this already, in which case, sorry.
