Thief crossed with BioShock?
Mmmhmmm.
I'll be getting it.

Thief FMs are looking pretty good these days - and is this really going to be so much better?
Which reminds me - they better release an editor. You'd hope Digi and Purah would put in their .02 and push for it, hopefully.

My 3+ year old machine just barely does not meet the Recommended specs here, so I don't think it's really that far out of line for sys reqs. Granted, it's the first game (I think) where it's happened, but you can't expect cutting edge game to run perfectly on 4 and 5 year old PCs.
It's not a cutting edge PC game. It's a console game. There is absolutely no good reason for a game that runs on 8 year old hardware with 512 megs of shared system/GPU RAM to have system requirements like that. Recommended requirements, sure, but minimum?
Now ArmA III...that's a game that I can understand not being able to play until I put together a new system. PC exclusive simulator that eats CPU cycles like Wilford Brimley going to town on a bowl of Quaker Oats.

I guarantee you those minimum reqs are bunk. They have to be, because they don't make any fucking sense.

Is it illegal for PC versions to have extra graphical effects? Oh, you're right it is. Lock up whoever made Arkham Asylum.
Digi might be able to... shed some light?

Arkham Aslyum has pretty modest system requirements. At the same time, you can crank the living shit out of it on decent hardware. Or even on not-so-decent hardware.
Minimum
CPU: Intel single core 3 Ghz or AMD equivalent
Memory: XP = 1 GB, Vista = 2GB
GPU: Shader Model 3 NVidia 6600 or ATI 1300 or higher
Recommended
CPU: Pentium D 3Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Dual core)
Memory: XP = 2GB, Vista = 3GB
GPU: NVidia 7900 GT or higher
Enhanced for multi-core
I can play Asylum/City on full detail at 1080p without physx cranked up (AMD card - worked great on an 8800GT, of all things) on a system that can't play Dishonored at minimum detail.

You missed my point.
Which was; perhaps, like BAA, you can turn up the gfx detail to exceed that of the consoles therefore requiring hardware that exceeds that of the consoles.
jay pettitt on 24/8/2012 at 09:40
That's not very minimum though is it. Minimum is running ok at 800x600 with everything turned off.

Maybe 5 years ago, certainly not now.

That's what recommended specs are for, not minimum. I'm not complaining about the recommended specs, and in fact, they seem awfully low for a game coming out in 2012.
