Even if I knew, I wouldn't be able to say either way. :erg:
You could wiggle your ears. Left ear for yes, right for no. They'd never spot that.

Demo damnity damnit! Like most laptops my PC is underpowered in the graphics dept. - which means I'd really appreciate a try before buy demo thing before I send you lots of money, because the machine is a bit hit and miss with the modern shiny games. If you could be a good chap and subliminally slip the word 'demo' into conversations and email when you're about the office...
Anyhow, unusually interested in this and looking forward to seeing some gameplay.

Seeing how either one or both of the
Thief intros (haven't played them in a while) show Garrett killing, I doubt that the canonical version is the one where he doesn't kill anyone.
I'd agree that it makes more sense - and is neater in terms of characterisation - for Garrett not to kill guards (unless he's in a situation where it's him or them), but if you have to ignore what the game shows you to come up with canon, then the whole notion of canon doesn't make much sense any more.
I dunno, the higher difficulties are pretty specific about 'Don't kill anyone- you're a thief, not a murderer'. Considering the higher difficulties are the ones that add a bit of realism (like having to get out afterwards) as well as side-missions, I think it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to be the basis of canon.
I can think of a number of games where the pre-rendered intro is not indicative of the gameplay or plot.

I absolutely see where you're coming from, but I think the word "canon" is singularly pointless in this case - because the moment "canon" becomes "whatever the fans like best", it becomes something else. Garrett killing guards is canon, as much as Jar Jar Binks and Darth Vader's "NOOOOO!!!!!", sad as it may be.

This looks absolutely amazing. Hurry up, October!

That looks...so good.

Pretty brilliant. Shame that they had to squeeze what was obviously a pretty large level into four minutes of screen time! I'm not sure how I feel about the Blink power - it almost seems like a bit of a lazy way to give players stealthy movement. But hey, it does look super fun.

Speaking of large levels, I do hope the PC version will not have that obvious loading zone in the ventilation.

It does look nice. You do seem awesomely powerful though. I guess that partly comes from it being a demo and everything is switched on to show off the powers.
I also wish they'd have some stones and not have the character holding his knife under his own chin just so you know its there because it's an FPS. But that's minor.
If they put out mod tools those Montreal guys can fill Thourf with as much third person BS as they like. We can still make ourselves a better one out of this.

Looking good. Really good.
I do hope for mod tools.
