Over a 100% CGI promo vid?
le sigh

That plus the developer interviews, screen shots, game concepts etc...
You can't be the best at everything and then get all disappointed when others fall short of your own awesomeness you know. It's mathematically unrealistic.

CGI promo videos come out before gameplay videos all the time. Gameplay videos too early are misleading anyway because systems are probably still evolving, but a CGI video lets them get out their basic vision in an interesting way.

I don't care, CGI or not, this is dripping with promise. More so than anything else out there right now. It has a story! Lot of people are excited about this. In the end, lets hope it lives up to the hype. I'm still buying it, have to support my daughter working at gamestop. :P

Even more so than before that trailer has convinced me that this might be the most beautiful game in a while trumping Bioshock's art deco easily.
It's a CG trailer. Don't get your hopes up. The released screenshots so far have shown a pre-HL2 Ep. 1 level of detail; it's not going to be bandied about as a Source engine graphical showcase, that much I can guarantee.

I didn't mean graphical quality, but art-style and atmosphere. It could be like pre-HL2 stuff as long as they create it smartly.

My impression was they killed the "mob"(who were apparently infected or w/e) to let the Important Guy pass.
Well I know that, but my point is, it just seems silly and illogical either way. I mean, what is their thought process - "oh crap, people are blocking the road, better kill them stat." You'd think they'd at least try to herd them away before they opened fire.

It looked to me like they were protesters - not particularly impressive or organised ones, mind you. Perhaps that was just my interpretation so that the scene makes sense, though.

I think part of the deal there is that they were weepers - infected with the plague. Which kinda mucks around with the morality of shooting exploding arrows at them.
I'm guessing the electric force fields of doom are used to quarantine outbreaks of infection.

I wasn't particularly wowed with Dark Messiah of Might & Magic's art design. I guess we'll see.
