tldr7 and co. will finally convert to the the same side of the fence as us stupid, shit-eating, mouthbreathing sheeple

Well, I have been breathing with my mouth all my life. And I'm proud of it, I'm a proud mouthbreather.

Sorry, but to qualify as a living, breathing human, you would need a soul first.
Moving on, I bet that Thi4f will use Steamworks as well. Deus Ex 3: (

I`m a cave dweller. What does it actually mean - Steamworks? Is this the thing when I buy the boxed game I have to log onto something via internet?

steamworks is a valve tool/framework for integrating steam achievements, stats tracking and DLC into your game so you don't have to code that stuff yourself. it means oc that those features are only enabled for users of steam and/or even that they will sell it on steam exclusively. so even a retail version will have to register/login thru steam (at least once).

Valve, the great promoter of consoles & piracy. Funny old world, this. Don`t getcha knickers in the twist, mouthbreathers, I`ll just quietly slink off back to that cave.

I'm afraid you've lost me on that one - what are you referring to?
van HellSing on 24/7/2011 at 18:14
The fact that some people refuse to buy Steam-infested games.
june gloom on 24/7/2011 at 18:30
Well some people are goddamned ninnies.

I don`t mind Steam as an online service - nearly got on it a while ago, and would now if had broadband - but if you need net connection to play a retail version, it is fucked up.
You`d be surprised how many people is out there without it. So, they might switch to consoles or download a crack in a cafe, but since it`s pain in the ass already might just go and pay some other kid few quid to burn them a copy.
I don`t even think it`s an anti-piracy measure, everybody knows it does not work, Valve ain`t so stupid. They probably think that anyone hopeless enough not to be connected is a pirate anyway, so sod them and let`s have everybody else sign up - it`s a great marketing tool.
