I've grabbed the
crossbow upgrade blueprints at the top of the Hound Pits tower. All those moments will be lost in time, like *ugn* tears in rain. Time to post.

How?

(

Except for the slightly silly sexism thing at the end there, maybe.

I know what quote he's aping Brethren (ffs) but that doesn't mean he hasn't come here to tell us he's cracked the tower in dramatic way.

Welp, just finished the second mission after 13 hours, and this is pretty damn close to Greatest Game Ever(tm) status so far. Top 5 at least.

Christ, this game
is crazy fucking dark, isn't it? I've never seen anything with quite this level of direness and despair in anything I've played over 25 years of gaming. Some come close, but nothing about Dishonored is happy.
Nothing.
Manhunt.

No, that's a little different. Manhunt is ridiculously dark and oppressively atmospheric, and just about nobody has any redeeming qualities, but it doesn't have the sheer direness that DH does. Carcer City is an empty, forgotten shell of what it once was (reminds me a lot of Detroit, actually) but it is not actively in the process of falling apart like Dunwall; there's no disease or quarantine, no dark moments where you're utterly alone with nobody nearby except the Outsider himfuckingself. It's just you, empty streets, and the armies of the night. There's a purity to it because it doesn't bother with details. Dishonored bothers with details, and it puts them in unlikely corners for you to find, if you know how to look. And those little details are devastating. I mean, you are literally watching the fucking apocalypse happening in slow motion here. Whatever happened in Carcer City, it happened a long time ago; it's just empty ghosts now.
