@ photose:
Ah, that makes sense. I was well chuffed with how I managed to neutralise her and save Slackjaw.
Well bugger.
Guess I'll just have to play that level again.
Still I really enjoyed my run through and recommend anyone wanting to make the game more interesting to chase the "Mostly Flesh & Steel" achievement alongside "Ghost" and "Clean Hands". I used no bone charms, runes or other supernatural powers, only upgrading all the tech stuff, and didn't really need to do that.
I also explored everywhere I could find and read every note I could; I'm sure without doing that, ghosting levels would be reasonably quick, but I wanted to see as much as I could.
Also, my mission stats screen reports no kills at all, yet I still don't have "Clean Hands". Is there a bug affecting that like the "Ghost" one?
Edit:
Regarding level sizes, I think they were done with optimisation in mind, and I for one am very happy, as the load times are reduced to 5 seconds maximum on an SSD. I'm guessing it also performs exceptionally well on the consoles.

Oh, @ driver; what do you mean exactly when you say 'hunt for the code in the paintings' when you are referring to SS2. I don't get what you mean.
There was one area on the Von Braun where a code for a device was scattered over the level, hidden on the digital display paintings. You had to cycle through the art to find a bit of the code then piece it together. There was a small nod to that in the bridge district level, but all the paintings were in the same house and you were told the order that they went in, you didn't need to travel more than a few meters to get the code (Or any code, for that matter).

I haven't played Dishonored yet, and I won't let emotions sprinkle my view of it until I've actually played it, but here's a review by Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation. Thankfully, he only talks briefly of the core mechanics and spends more time talking about the first two Thief games.

I have no clue if anyone has posted this, but I'm only only 3/4s of the way surprised at his statements. So I figured nobody posted it yet, out of respect.

Anyone else notice that Campbell becomes a weeper in the flooded district if you brand him?

Yes - that was a very nice touch.

There is an achievement for putting him out of his misery.

I actually found blink to be one of my favorite abilities. I didn't WANT to play Dishonored like thief, but if that is what you wanted then I can see why you'd find blink over powering. Thing is.... if you push the ability to its limits, it becomes an extremely challenging piece of kit to use. Sure you could be patient and slink around and wait for the perfect interval of guard patrol routes to run up and strangle somebody, like you would in Thief, but what about intentionally trying to be stealthy and non-lethal and quick at the same time? Blink into a crowd of 3 or 4 guards to take one out and blink out of there before being noticed or being shot in the back can be very challenging. Or blink between a guard and his dog and take the guard out before the dog attacks you, not very easy to do. And when you get it right you're like fucking Nightstalker and it's mega cool.
Some other things that actually bugged me seem systemic to the genre. For one.. slitting throats is NEVER a good kill tactic. It would be uber messy and quite loud. I'm surprised nobody has yet thought of this or understood it. I realize its a suspension of disbelief thing and needs to be theatrical and everything, but its irks me some.
Also. why the hell do none of these stealth / assassination games have a garrote? You'd think that would be a pretty common piece of kit.

The Hitman games use a garotte / piano wire, non?

They sure do, and it is awesome. The animations are brutal.
