The question is not whether or not Palin is directly responsible for this because of her aggressive rhetoric, but whether or not she has contributed to a rising level of anger that can help push something like this shooting along.
Anyone who has been paying attention knows the answer to the latter and has been half-expecting a tragedy like this for awhile now.

Well, yeah. Because his interactions with me long ago ceased to have anything to do with what I'm actually saying and have become a mere excuse for him to browbeat me because I don't behave to his liking. Which really doesn't have anything to do with reality, but rather his own warped perceptions about me: It's about him and his psychological issues, and it's fucking tedious for everyone.
And that's why I generally don't initiate any engagements with him - even when I have sound backing to point out when he's being an asshole, nobody wants to hear it, so I don't bother because he's not worth my time to self inflict his sort of shitheaded behaviour upon myself (that, and the fact that I'm at least moderately principled, and don't engage in the kind of hypocrisy necessary to complain about someone else's impoliteness). He stubbornly won't extend me the same courtesy, beause, well, he's an even bigger douche than I ever am.
