About a buggering time!
A brilliant author, a spokesperson for Alzheimers, a huge Thief fan, and a Knight, for Services to Literature.

Very pleased to hear it, though a bit puzzled why Brucey never manages to bag a knighthood.

Phew, the thread title made think that someone had died.

Yes, the first time I heard about this was just a mysterious reference to "the Prattchet news."
Gave me a goddamn heart attack.

You don't have to be British to be knighted, right? I remember hearing something a while about about the Queen wanting to knight Bill Gates. Apparently Americans can't have titles though:(

I wonder how many people here remember Terry Pratchett posting on these forums... :)

Bill Gates does indeed have a knighthood, but you need to be a Commonwealth citizen to call yourself "Sir". Some Americans are Sirs by virtue of them holding citizenship of Commonwealth nations, eg Sir Sidney Poitier is Bahamian through his parents, which raises the intriguing possibility of there being a Sir Barack Obama potentially in the future :sly:

How many people would like to see him do so, again? *raising hand, jumping up and down*

Well bring him back as I'd like to cut out the middleman and tell him directly what I think of his books
