T3Ed commits suicide and kills your Thief 3 install aswell? The quote from Thief 2 struck me immediately:
Rob: 'Once upon a time, not only would Dromed crash, but it would go out and kill your family afterwards.'
Mahk: 'I thought we took out that code.'
Guess we aren't that lucky with T3Ed
Atleast I thought so too a while back. Of course in my case, I was trying to run the Thief3Main.exe manually, instead of using the Thief3Launcher. I didn't have the Menu background and all the buttons were called ?T_Button. I assume your situation is a bit more critical.
Two things I know that kill the game while loading from T3Ed:
1. Vertex pools too small
2. Trying to load a mission without a proper startingpoint (startingpoint with the teleport location property won't do)
Edit: Oh and regarding GarrettLoader:

Was GarrettLoader involved? I'm not pointing fingers - growing pains are a part of any software development (do I ever know that first hand). I'm just curious, because that's now at least two user's installs that have gone bad. I haven't used GL myself and haven't had a problem with my single game/editor install (yet!).
It seems the only way to properly load a mission in my computer is to run the game using dracflamloc's loader. Garrettloaders play button causes the bad menu effect, but so does using Start>Programs>Eidos>Thief-Deadly Shadows>Play Thief - Deadly Shadows, so the fault is mainly because of the T3Ed install.

No garretloader on my end and my separate game folder works fine. I downloaded the entire editor again and reinstalled it, since my copy seemed to have become corrupted. This was only happening when I tried to open the original missions, so I guess they must have become corrupted back when I had the problems with my ram.
All is well again.

I use my own loader. Feature-
less and problem free* (and for in-house use only)!
At least until the various 'loader projects get sorted.

at least, hopefully...

Well, I didn't use T3Ed all day but when I finally started it up I couldn't run anything. The editor preferences were reset & I don't even want to know what else was screwed up. I think my ram is going bad. :nono:

I think my days of T3Eding are drawing to a close unfortunately. I'm moving onto Doom3Ed. Going to start working on the architecture for a Dark Mod level that I had originally planned for Dromed. It's going to be a large cathedral, with quite a few ways to gain entrance. I might even slip that one entrance will be under water. ;)

Just smack me around for a little bit. I was trying to find a way to import a psk to t3ed, created an archetype in the gamesys to fit the psk in, the psk didn't import very well, got rid of the psk, didn't get rid of the archetype. Now I got rid of the archetype. Of all the stupid things :erm: I'm running again . . . although I don't know if that's a good thing . . .
