I've been trying to get T3Ed to run the maps. But it's not working! I've had no problems until last night when NOTHING would run from T3Ed (xbox, regular play) & I even tried to run OMs. This is happening on both installs of T3Ed (one is experimental & one is a default).
I was tweaking my default.ini but after the problems I copied the one from my other T3Ed install. That didn't work either.
The closest I've come to in the last two days was copying the minimalist's default.ini then it would quit when it's loading the main map. Otherwise any other default.ini wouldn't even start loading. The window's command console would pop-up through xbreboot.bat & then quit.
Hell, I even tried running Labyrinth 0.4 & the Inn, & I ended up reinstalling T3Ed & still it wouldn't work. My main T3 (non-editor) installation runs fine. I copied my default T3Ed install onto another drive. No go.
Everything compiles fine. Right now I'm trying to run HammerIntro1 . . .
No go :grr:
I'm not getting any error logs. I'm about ready to call it quits before I throw my computer out the window. That's how pissed I am at the moment.
EDIT: Here's one consistant error I get if I do get an error:
Code:
ERROR: Could not find default value for option InvertYAxis in my DEFAULT.INI! [ 55195] (.\T3OptionsManager.cpp : 370)
ERROR: Could not find default value for option Brightness in my DEFAULT.INI! [ 55196] (.\T3OptionsManager.cpp : 370)
ERROR: Could not find default value for option VSynch in my DEFAULT.INI! [ 55196] (.\T3OptionsManager.cpp : 370)
ERROR: Could not find default value for option UseHWMixing in my DEFAULT.INI! [ 55196] (.\T3OptionsManager.cpp : 370)
ERROR: Could not find default value for option UseEAX in my DEFAULT.INI! [ 55196] (.\T3OptionsManager.cpp : 370)
ERROR: Could not find default value for option EAXMultipleEnvironments in my DEFAULT.INI!
EDIT: I still can't get it to work. I tried recompiling schemas (conversations), triggerscripts, I had to rename all the custom skins for the smeshes, re-edit default.ini, alternated loadfromresourceblockfiles (when it's enabled I get a little further, but when loading quotes start to appear it crashes to desktop) . . . WHAT?!? A new warning:
Code:
WARNING: Found multiple sections named default.ini in file Vendor_102b. [ 170] (.\ConfigFile\ConfigFile.cpp : 76)
WARNING: Found multiple sections named default.ini in file Vendor_1039. [ 170] (.\ConfigFile\ConfigFile.cpp : 76)

WARNING: Found multiple sections named default.ini in file LoadingScreen. [ 170] (.\ConfigFile\ConfigFile.cpp : 76)

EDIT: My tweaked install does work but I had to update the vertex pools. I only had the dynamic stuff raised. I still have no idea why my other install doesn't work & I've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it.

Can you start the editor version of the game by itself from a shortcut?
Your first error is saying it's missing a whole load of things that I think it puts into the default.ini at first run, so maybe if you can get to the main menu it can fix that part of itself.
Other than that I'm afraid I can't offer much help - I use a single install, and I don't edit the default.ini because there's no point (and I'm afraid I'll mess something important up).

My 'xbox play' seems broken now as well. It all started when i tried installing something using GarrettLoader. Strange, because i thought that the Thief3edit and Thief 3 installations were separate entities...
I have a T3 FM almost ready to ship - just need to work out how to package it...

I think something happened to my gamesys. I just exchanged my newer one with a default one & it wouldn't run on my tweaked install.

Atleast you weren't getting a "Your options file couldn't be read, even after creating it!" error.
I wish you luck. Sometimes I wonder whether T3Ed is a bigger devil than dromed ever was... :erg:

Have no idea what happened but now neither of my T3Ed installs will load missions. Crashes to desktop before the map loads into the editor. Grrrr.

T3Ed must have a timed self-destruct :nono: I finally have one install working now. Don't know what happened to the other.

Why don't you just copy the whole working install to some place? If a problem arises you always can just copy it all back, no need to re-install.

That's why I have two copies on my hard drive. Neither of them work now which is completely insane since I only use the main one. Believe me, I take precautions.

Was GarrettLoader involved? I'm not pointing fingers - growing pains are a part of any software development (do I ever know that first hand). I'm just curious, because that's now at least two user's installs that have gone bad. I haven't used GL myself and haven't had a problem with my single game/editor install (yet!).
