The last Picard Star Trek was awful. I think it was the last one - the one with his Romulan clone or whatever. It was so dire I almost walked out.
The Mission Impossibles have been pretty good actually.

For me, the Star Trek films have always been inconsistent, good ones interspersed with bad ones.
Same for the Bond films.
I would say the same for the Marvel films, but I've only seen maybe half of them.
Batman was going down the tubes until Christopher Nolan rescued it.
I agree the Mission Impossibles have all been at least decent.
Same for the Bourne movies I guess, although I think they are played out.
Another franchise with consistent quality that comes to mind is Harry Potter. They took it just far enough, and stopped at the right time (not counting Fantastic Beasts).

The three recent Star Wars movies have been very decent indeed, and undeniably better than the prequels.

Aye Revenge of the Sith was excellent. Besides the "noooooo". Everything else in that was great. Was the only one of the prequels that I went to see twice and I rarely ever do that. Dark Knight was the only other of recent that I've done that for.

I rate Revenge of the Sith more than the recent films. I regretfully never saw it in the theater, because after Phantom Menace I didn't really want to bother with Star Wars. My wife rented Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. I begrudgingly sat through AotC, but enjoyed RotS. It closed the series out strongly, but I still wasn't inspired to see it again.
We revisited all the prequels not long ago after my daughter took an interest in Star Wars. After watching all three of them again over the course of a weekend, they hold up better now than I remember. Or maybe I've just learned how to look over the most cringe-worthy parts. Jar Jar is still almost unbearably annoying, and some of the battles in AotC are hard to watch. But there is a story there that's worth watching and it ends strongly.

For me:
Phantom Menace - Average movie, but it has some awesome bits (pod racing, the light saber battles, final battle with Darth Maul in particular). Too much Jar Jar and too much talk about trade federations, treaties etc etc. Zzzzzz.
Clone Wars - Boring. Forgettable. Terrible acting. I forgot that movie quite quickly.
Revenge of The Sith - Much better acting than in the previous 2, some good emotional moments, plot comes together well and the final battle is well done. I will say though that nothing done to screen could have satisfied me as to Anakin's reason for going dark side. Long before the prequels even came out I had a much grander image in my mind. I'm happy enough with what we got for the reason, but I'd imagined something grander. And it didn't annoy me in the same way as how Luke was handled in TLJ. He wasn't done justice.
I wonder how people will speak of this new trilogy in 10-20 years time.

RotS is the 'best' of the prequels, but it still contains so much unrefined cack - younglings, "I have the high ground", "NOOOOOOOOOOO", "She's lost the will to live" (by this point in the trilogy, I know how she feels), etc - that I spent most of the subsequent decade wishing for someone to take Star Wars away from Lucas before he could drive it even further into the abyss. Thank you Disney for answering my prayers.

Just watched the (
http://www.maple-films.com/rogue-one-downloads.html)
Rogue One fan-edit that cuts it down to a 50 min movie focusing on the battle on Scarif. It also adds in old John Williams music and edits out certain references to things that happened earlier in the movie to make it more self-contained. It's not bad! The movie's best moments are mostly at the end, with the Corvette making the two Star Destoryers crash into the shield, and the whole last 5 minutes being particular stand-outs. I just re-watched Rogue One before watching this edit, and while there are a few nice character moments earlier in the movie, the first 2/3 is mostly a drag, and I'd say overall this edit is a more pleasant way to revisit this story.

* The Empire Strikes Back
* A New Hope
* Return of the Jedi
* The Phantom Menace
* Rogue One
* Revenge of the Sith
* The Force Awakens
* Attack of the Clones
And since TFA made me stop caring (at least it made me reconsider a lot of things about the prequel trilogy.), I haven't seen whatever came out since.

I'd rate them:
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue One
5. Revenge of the Sith
6. The Phantom Menace
7. The Force Awakens
8. The Last Jedi
9. Attack of the Clones
If the Ework's movies count as cannon (I'm assuming they do), then the first was alright and the second was terrible.
