Yes the knuts are coming out. It was Brits who were taken. They were taken to be used as trading pawns. Perhaps they were over the line some and perhaps not. The Iraqi officers were taken by the US inside Iraq cities helping Sheite militias. Why else would they be there? Vacation? Yes the US is pissed that while we are struggling to get the two sides to stop fighting and work together they are working to arm and provoke a civil war. No we don't want to send them back so they can get another load of arms and come back. We did that already.

But let me help you with your theory. Instead of Brits seeking to stem the flow of Iranian arms and personell into Iraq it was US Navy seals in Brit costumes. Not the soldiers but real seals specially trained to die once inside Iranian custody and thus cause an incident whereby we can finally launch enough missles to wipe the smugness from every European conspiracy nut. We fear however that there will never be enough multiple warhead nukes to do the job.

Weren't they registered diplomats in a consulate? AFAIK, there've been no substantive charges against these guys, and frankly U.S. credibility isn't that high right now. Sure, they're probably lying, but most likely so are we.
