Very excited about your upcoming missions, trefoilknot!
Sounds fascinating.

Okay? I'm referring to connections between separate areas of the map. This would let you have the inside of buildings bigger than the outside among other effects, all without relying on teleporting the player in a room where she doesn't notice it.

Frankly, this entire thread is becoming hyperbolic.

Gee, you think?

As objects were moved around the level, the engine would keep track of which cells the object was in. It would do this incrementally, using what cells the object was previously in to guide the current decision. This meant that this part of the engine could actually handle arbitrary unrealistic topologies
(in which portals could lead to spaces in inconsistent ways, and fold space back on itself), since the "physics" could perform these local movement operations, but we never had a way to make such things
Reading is fun.

The page you referred to literally says "but we never had a way to make such things" and "the actual Thief game engine never supported it anyway."
You're right, reading is fun!

dewdrop is non-euclidean,but i dont want to get people riled up over it,he is basicly a mandelbrot set,so deep no one can fully comprehend him 1.710 units omg its better then pie

all hail the healing fruit which is also a non-euclidean object no other object in the entire universe is like it ,the angles alone are truly incredible and awe inspirering

Irrelevant. Steve said that Dark doesn't support portals, when in fact it's the fundamental basis of the renderer.
