I've read the FAQ, but it's a bit outdated in it's solution unless I'm missing something. I've got an NVidia 8800, and there don't seem to be any fog table emulation options. Its not a big deal, but its the only thing left for me to get the game running flawlessly.
Also, a tip for Vista users: Your movies won't play no matter what unless you specifically run the game as an administrator. It took me a while to figure that out and it's not in the FAQ so I thought I'd pass it along. Maybe one of the admins can add it.

This may noy help, but if you goto the fan mission forum and search under fog you will find two. They are for 2 of the original mission levels. Other than that, I hope an expert will come along. Hope this helps! :)

You need DDfix to re-enable fog in T2. Actually you need DDfix period for the game to be rendered correctly on DX10 video cards and newer (ie dithering, stars in the sky).
As previously mentioned, fog doesn't work in Vista (probably W7 too since it's basically "Vista Plus", I don't have that OS so I wouldn't know.).

Fog does work in Vista for a few certain people, all of whom thus far (I believe) are using ATI cards. Read the thread I linked to before. I don't know if the XP Mode in Win7 will magically make fog work again for everyone who had it before or not.

I seriously doubt it. It seems to be tied to graphics card drivers.

No offence, but I can read and saw your last post the first time. I also not only read that linked thread ages ago, but I was the one who
started it.
It should go without saying that fog doesn't work under Vista
for the most part, I don't see why 100% precise statements should be made every single time when it's already been mentioned in this thread.

I'm unable to use the ddfix patch with my inspiron 1525 (which uses a intel 965 express chipset), and yet I have stars in the sky... but nix on the fog. But then again: Vista, so you know...
But I think this problem lies more in the directx 9-10 with vista combination than anything. And after all, there could be any reason for this. The compositing interface for example, may be the problem. But who knows? I don't. I guess I'm just shooting fish in a barrel.
And I've tried 3d-analyze, but it lacks a pixel fog emulation option.
Er, or those of you who don't catch my drift: Table Fog=Pixel Fog.
And from what I've learned, thief 2 on newer systems is mostly rendered in vertices... am I right?
