So now I proudly bear the rare and prestigious draft category E, which means I'm totally and utterly useless for the military. That's good, but I hope I don't run into problems when I'm looking for a job now...
When we still had a draft every employer could ask for ones performance and discipline, on you cv (universal term? The list of your jobs/schools etc) just like everything else. Sounds like bad to me. Could have told he him looked absolutily sensational and wait for the gay-rights lobby's to notice Poland.

I can thankfully avoid military service due to my astma/allergies :)
Yeah, I hear Texas people are good of getting out of military service.

Out of everyone here who has thought of moving to Canada to skip the draft?
Eh?

And so am I
Wow, dissociative identity disorder *and* schizophrenia. That has to be tough.

I really don't know why schizophrenia is so commonly associated with having multiple personalities, it is really dissociative identity disorder which people are thinking of.
Etymology and common use. The word schizophrenia originated from the Greek words schizein (to split) and phren (mind).

If the draft is reinstated by the time I reach 18 and I get called, I'm going to Canada. It's that simple.
I recall reading about a proposal that any act of war would be put to vote, and anyone who said 'yes' would then be put on the list of reserves. But oh no, we can't have that- it's just
wrong for the rich politicians to send us into war but not have to fight in it...

Genuine question: if they start drafting people in the UK, do you think I should take up Irish citizenship or Israeli citizenship?
ignatios on 24/10/2007 at 00:01
Wouldn't have you have to spend two years in the Israeli forces in the latter case?
It sounds bloody obvious but I don't actually know.
