I can't be drafted or participate in any kind of field or combat duty in the military because of celiac disease - pretty much an allergy to wheat, oats, barley, and some other grains. I guess it's too much of a hassle to supply wheat-free foods out in the field. Which I suppose is one upside of not being able to eat almost anything.

Also, where are all of you from that you can get drafted? I'm in the US, so a future draft is still hypothetical at this point.

Ever heard that live recording of Bruce Springsteen's "The River", where he talks about how he dodged his draft? The morning I had my examination I listened to that, and you can imagine I was determined not to serve any army. Did civilian service in a kindergarten and helping old people. It was a shitty job but it made a lot more sense than becoming a soldier to me.
Anyway, listen to the song sometimes. It's on that double live CD. The one that also has "War".

heh seems Poland shares allot of common crap with Greece when it comes the the army.
here the I5 category is the get-out-of-army-free card. i also think that they dont have to do any public service too.
the bad thing is its not actually "free". you cant work as a public servant with an I5 record though (get this) its illegal for private companies etc to discriminate according to this (and it doesnt actually show up anywere except on record only the stat holds).
