Just bought a new phone and my boyfriend suggested that I go with a DX theme with this one instead of Hello Kitty and I wondered if anyone knew if a DX polyphonic ringtone exists. I've found some game related ones- Shenmue, Zelda, Metroid, all console games really

Get the intro to "Am I Evil" by Diamondhead instead. Second best intro ever. #1 is the "Foreplay" section of "Been a Long Time" by Boston, but that's a bit long and you really have to wait for it to build up. The mighty Diamond just begin kicking your face and ass simultaneously from the get-go, even if the intro is just a revamped version of "Beck's Bolero".

When I saw your thread title, I was gonna say "It's hard to get geekier than a DX ringtone...", but your post proved me wrong.

I'm guessing there isn't one anyway :( and there is someone geekier out there- I did find a nokia monophonic DX ringtone that someone had made.
A System Shock themed phone would be good as well.

Well, when you eventually upgrade to a phone with mp3 ringtones, it'll be easy. The difficulty will be in picking which tune to use.

I was reluctant to get a new phone at all & really didn't want one with any extras like that- I just want a phone to be a phone, though being able to play tetris on it is a bonus.
I've managed to make ringtone now anyway- converted the mp3 to a wav, edited it on cool edit then used the nokia software to convert it to whatever format the phones voice recorder uses.

My boyfriend has that ringtone, and wants a Metroid Prime one. I guess we're just video game obsessed geeks :tsktsk:

My phone supports only 24voice midis and I tried to make a DX ringtone for it. I started with my favorite and probably easyest - unatco music. You can actually Convert original .umx tracks straight into .midi with ModPlug Tracker, the only thing left is to set the instruments and tweak the sound. Sounds very simple but my musical talents couldn't get right even that, plus I had difficulties in founding any good midi editor. all out of more than 5 I have tried had serious issues or lacked some necessary functions. In the end I quit :erg:
Now I can only hope that someone makes one in midi or I'll have to wait till I'll get myself an mp3 phone. At least I tried. :erg:
