Right now, I'm running about 25 miles per week, and I typically run about 5-6 organized 5Ks per summer. Been meaning to lift weights on an regular schedule, but the most I usually end up doing are a bunch of situps and pushups.
I've lost about 15 pounds since the beginning of June, and would like to lose about 20 more, but it seems like every winter, I forget how to exercise and eat well. My main goal is to stay a little more consistent this year, I'm learning it gets tougher and tougher to work off those pounds when you're over 40.
Edit: Running is real love/hate with me, I like the competitive part but hate the pain. Lately, I've been looking to do some things that are a bit more fun, where you don't even realize you're exercising, like mountain biking and racquetball.

I work for a landscaping company and doing all the grunt work like digging holes, lifting rocks and pushing wheel barrows around pretty much does it in terms of a workout.
Try installing/taking down stadium/grandstand seating. It's a fucking killer but you gain strength no end

Yeah I'm 33 and I was 230 lbs. a year ago. My doc told me that anything over around 200 lbs. is overweight and potentially unhealthy (I'm 6' 3")
I am 34, 195 lbs, 6 foot even. I have very little fat, and mostly muscle. I was a local Golden Glove ((
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gloves)) boxer in my early 20's, and was a psycho about lifting/cardio. Luckily, I retain most of my muscle and figure, though my cardio fitness level has dropped significantly over the yrs.
2 dr.s both agreed I am in excellent physical condition, and definitely not overweight. Besides, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index) is a MUCH better way of determining relative fitness.

That's the key to maintainable cardio, find something you enjoy and stick with it. Having said that, the most effective path to weight loss is limiting your caloric intake (within reason), as it is generally easier to limit caloric bombs like doughnuts than it is to work them off.

Besides looking better and feeling better about yourself, all of the exercise automatically makes you feel much more upbeat and happy throughout the day.
Been exercising, lost a good thirty pounds so far.

Plus, quit consuming
anything with High Fructose corn syrup, corn oil, and corn products as we know it (including grain/corn fed beef, and milk from corn fed cows-- switch to grass fed instead, or just eat fish). The corn grown today is nothing but fattener and starch, having very little nutritional value, with the meat from cows raised on grain being more-or-less red fat with a bit of malnourished meat somewhere in it. And high fructose corn syrup prevents weight-loss (so cut out the soda pop, energy drinks, and Gatorade!).
[Edit] BTW, I've lost damn near forty pounds now without one bit of exercise, portioning, or any bullshit dieting voodoo (those fucking Healthy Choice/Weight Watchers dinners will kill you) just by altering my dining experience into something nutritional instead of mass marketed crap. And I still eat ice-cream every night; though it is the stuff we make from grass-fed milk cows consisting of: milk, sugar, and vanilla. I imagine the closest you can buy from the store is the Breyers brand.

I've just moved to Boston and been working out a lot cuz I don't have much better to do. I'm the opposite in that I'm trying to gain weight, but it's a slow process.
Either way I really just want a Rocky 4 workout regimen.

It involves tofu, and lots of it.
