Anyway, I really like Burn Notice. Some of the early episodes were somewhat patchy with naff directing choices, but it's really found its feet. Every episode there's a new problem, with Mike explaining to that he'll solve it, and that it will be interesting to watch. And then he does, and it is.
Plus, you learn how to turn your car trunk into an x-ray machine along the way.
Yeah, my favorite so far is when he explains exactly what's involved with losing a car that's following you: Drive like an idiot.

It's not often that my massive pretension can allow me to enjoy turn-your-brain-off TV. Burn Notice, that slips right on by. I don't even care whether his methods are accurate or not, it's entertaining. As a skinny dweeb, I also really like that he's not some iron-nerved cool guy either, he's just a dude armed with knowledge, a little experience, and a team of writers to get him just barely out of trouble.
I wonder how he pays the rent though, seems like he never takes money from anyone.

I find Burn Notice pretty entertaining, I tend to catch it whilst looking at USA to see if NCIS is done and/or House has started, but there are times I look specifically for it, mostly because of Bruce-fucking-Campbell.
Even kids hail to the king.

It's Bruce Campbell in sunglasses. What the hell more can you ask for?

I was wondering if your business has slowed because the economic crisis? I thought of your reply different ways in my mind.
1) Your business has fallen off because people are just letting their broken stuff be broken.
2) Your business has picked up because so many married couples are fighting about money, throwing their most valuable things at each other, then needing them fixed.
3) Your business is the same because 1 and 2 are both true.
4) Just shut up howie you think too much.
5) All of the above.

lol howie. :) No you ask a very valid question, and one I've been asked this year.
Well, a lot has changed for me over the past 3 years. I started BA in 1993, with then hubby. We divorced a few years ago. The business was run at home, I wanted more for the business, he was content at home. With the divorce, I was running it by myself. No business on gods green earth can be run alone. I almost quit. Stress, and more stress.
Fast forward to last year, LeatherMan moved to Texas, he was interested in what I was doing, he's also my new partner, and its better than ever.
We moved the business out of the house in October, then had to again in Jan. Douche bag landlord didn't tell the owner of the building we were occupying space! Isn't that nice. Oh shit. Had to move again, found a place, an even better place within one week. Found it on craigslist. This is a much better scenario overall.
The business has been steady howie, its actually growing, I think people want to hold on to what they have, and get their stuff fixed. Odd, I know. I'm working with a few different organizations now, groups of various collectors, one particular group specializes in cut glass. I can reproduce missing cut glass sections, a difficult job, but I can do it, and other procedures as well.
So, the business has been growing, I'm glad its in its new location. Its better than ever. We've got plans for a new website. Since LeatherMan has updated the site, we've gotten more hits, more traffic, more work, so, tis all goooood.
I've have a few speaking engagements to various groups this year too. So, its busy. Thanks for asking howie.
I dread the day I have to hire someone. :p

:D Oh happy day. I'm glad to see things are going good for you.
Restoring stained glass windows is nasty business with all those lead vapors traveling around. Just make sure you have good ventilation and get tested for blood lead in your veins once in a while.
Sorry to hear about the divorce. Been through it once, and once is enough for me. They really are not spouses, just liabilities. Don't tell anyone i said that.
Anywho, nice hearing from you again. :),

Thats one area I don't dabble in, stain glass. I could but, I don't want to. I have enough on my hands at the moment. Thanks for the well wishes, things are getting there. :) Hell, I've wondered for years, and will continue to wonder if my body has been invaded by the chemicals.
Divorce, well, shit happens, hardest thing I ever had to do, drugs and booze, that and a lot of other whacked out shit, will kill any relationship.
Nice to hear from you too howie. :)
