I don't watch it myself. Its some spy show, its on its third year now. My niece loves it.
Whats cool about it, we got a pre-columbian vase from the show to work on! Its very cool. I received emails from this woman, we corresponded back and forth, when the package arrived, there was a letter with their information. The letter itself was on company letter head from the show, and this came from the art department. We've been speculating, was broke on the set? Who knows.
They had flowers in it. You don't put flowers in a piece like that. I find it very cool, to work on pieces like this, it's my favorite. I would post pictures, I'm at work, and my FTP is at home. Pictures later, and this one is definitely going on the site. Sorry, just have to share, and its pieces like this,
this is why I love my job.

It's not a bad show. Sort of James Bond meets Macgyver meets Magnum, and all set in Miami.

I watched it a few times at my grandmothers who only has basic cable. I found it entertaining enough and witty but then again, it had only televangalists to compete with.
Also Bruce Campbell, but his part is too small it seemed.

My gf goes on and on about this show, in sort of a playful funny way how "cool" the lead is, but I haven't seen it myself. She keeps trying to get me to watch it. I think she'll find it very funny that someone from my world is connected to the show, even if it's a sort of random way, but sort of an interesting way.

The people that I've talked to about the show, all have enjoyed it and do like it.
I too thought this was kind of a weird thing, to be connected to the show, even if its in a small random way. Do a great job for them, hopefully the word will spread of the work I do. They'll remember me, and send more work my way in the future. I can only hope.
Here are some pictures of the vase. When a piece is like this, and in this many pieces, I have to put it together first, I give them a rough quote, I tell them I need to see it in person for a proper evaluation, then talk to them about a quote.
The preliminary shots, with tape all over it, are just some evaluation shots, for myself and for them, the client. The vase is pieced together, so I can see whats going on, and see just how damaged it is. As you can see it is heavily damaged, it needs work. We can do it.
I like the figure on the vase, of a fat little man, with his hands over his belly, and a big nose. Who he represents, his origin, I don't know.

This is the beginning, the before shot, we have to take it all back apart, take off the tape, and now, slowly glue it, and get it back to its original condition. Anybody have any super glue, I just ran out.

Maybe you caught one of the early episodes, but his part is about as a large as a trusty sidekick warrants.
Anyway, I really like Burn Notice. Some of the early episodes were somewhat patchy with naff directing choices, but it's really found its feet. Every episode there's a new problem, with Mike explaining to that he'll solve it, and that it will be interesting to watch. And then he does, and it is.
Plus, you learn how to turn your car trunk into an x-ray machine along the way.

Its one of the better spy/espionage shows, in no small part because it is more accurate to real life intelligence methods than most.

YOU use scotch tape to fix broken arts? I guess you did a good job considering what it looked like.:eww:
BrokenArts on 10/6/2009 at 20:57
Haha howie, we used scotch tape just to piece it together at the beginning to see just how damaged it was. Yes, I do use scotch tape, and all kinds of tape really. This piece we'll use tension clamps, and small sand boxes to hold the pieces together, and a little bit of tape. Its being glued right now, its a slow process.
Thanks for looking. Hows the looking going on your end, er should I say the end you prefer on women. :ebil: lol.

Sounds interesting. Never had that done to me, but not afraid of doing new things. Didn't think you were that tape of girl.
