Thanks Larry, but when I put that in game, it's invisible. It has the right dimensions, but I see nothing. Maybe the faces are all flipped inside-out somehow?
R Soul on 13/2/2015 at 14:08
If the faces were inside out you'd see them, but from the wrong direction.
This button is a jointed object. The red part is the sub object and the base is invisible. I suspect an improper joint setup is the cause.
Yandros on 13/2/2015 at 14:40
For my purposes, it need not even have the joint, but I suppose if this were to be useful to someone else as a proper button it should be fixed.
LarryG on 13/2/2015 at 17:23
Huh! I just took the object as it was spit out by DEOCI and added the back, I didn't play with the joint at all ... Apparently the joint didn't get converted properly from bin to 3ds ... try this, I redid the joint & tested it all in DromEd :p
Edit: Deleted the zip again

The base object is an empty set of 3 vertices. Maybe Anim8or requires lines between them to show them, or maybe it does load them but won't export them.
Yandros on 13/2/2015 at 21:31
Thanks Larry, that works for me, although there's still not technically a back face, you textured the backs of the existing faces. It still looks like an empty box with no lid, if you get my meaning - you textured the inside of the box. However, that's fine by me since at least it's no longer transparent from the back view.
LarryG on 14/2/2015 at 01:18
It's not flat across (which, IMHO, would look stupid). But there's a back to the button. Look at it. It's just indented some. Besides, I need that indentation to put the base for the joint in without artificially making the button behave thicker.
Here, I thickened the wall so you should be able to see that the button has thickness.

Yeah, I gave up on them. I tried adding lines between them and then a surface, but nothing worked. So I deleted them and added a tiny cube for the base and then made it invisible. I think LGS was relying on having the wrong face of the triangular plane facing out so that it wouldn't be rendered.

Thanks, it looks great Larry, and you're right, that looks more realistic for mounting onto a wall mechanism than would a solid block of a button. Thanks again.
