Honestly, I would say that it is very good manners to ask others to perform a task as such when you can't do it yourself. It's not other's jobs to satisfy your requests here; this is a learning experience for all of us--so contribute yourself instead of leeching off other's talents. I'm getting a little sick of "I really don't know how to do this..but wouldn't it be cool if..." requests. Some of you don't even know the scope of your request or even what it would entail to satisfy it. Use some courtesy when you are so "desperately" reliant on others. :grr:

While I can understand your annoyance, Ombrenuit, I thought that I made it a point to be polite when I started this thread. I don't think anyone here is demanding that other people "satisfy our requests," as you put it. Nor do I believe that offering our ideas is the same "leeching off other people's talents." There should be a place in the editing community for people without much design experience to offer their input.
As it happens, I have just finished downloading the T3 editor onto my computer, so hopefully I can at some point make the kind of "contributions" that you've asked for. But I don't think anyone sees this forum as a kind of "exclusive club" where only those with the proper technical skills are allowed to voice their opinion. As I said in my first post, I think that ideas are the best kind of "contributions" that people lacking technical expertise can make.

I don't know if anyone will make a version of the robots for T3, but I know they're planned for The Dark Mod. There's a picture of a high-poly version here (top row, far right).

:erg: Ombrenuit, who are you to dictate what is discussed on any thread, anywhere? Who are you to tell a newbie "Your questions are invalid." If thestemmer has made some sort of mistake in your book of cyber etiquette, why not a nice PM to explain yourself instead of trying to publicly embarrass him? New editors need to be WELCOMED, not spooked off by grumps. And anyway he is right, new editors should make contributions in the form of ideas, it teaches them what is possible/not possible and presents new stuff for the community to consider.

He asked politely, he hasn't moaned at the fact that nobody's actually said they would, so grow up.

I cannot see anything "offensive" in thestemmer's tone. Maybe Ombrenuit just had a bad day or something. Clearly he didn't see the manners of those who express their "frustration" when one who worked hard to achieve something didn't do it "exactly" how they had in mind. That is something to see.

:weird: What the...
It's just a discussion. There's nothing wrong with someone putting forth an idea - sometimes someone even picks it up and runs with it, thereby benefitting the entire community. Chill.

Sorry ascottk one last tangential point. I would also like to see the Bots return because I have a new one sketched out. A small gyrocopter, basically a flying head with a few insect looking legs dangling underneath. They would appear in a small flight group, maybe four. One carrying a considerable (for Garrett) light source, a flying spotlight, the others armed with small dartlaunchers that poison, trank, or simply hurt targets. Fuel source is a heat crystal in their hearts, they are impervious to water, broads, gas, melee but a direct fire arrow hit will take one apart and a direct moss arrow clogs their intakes. All the time with a chorus of hi-pitched religious zealot voices crying out fit to drive you nuts!
