No, but it's difficult to throw the modified flashbomb within close range and then turn away fast enough before it hits the ground
So. . . They drop and go off faster. :tsktsk:

Uhm....no.
They drop as fast as they always did and they go off as fast as they always did (in TDS). Turning around before they go off is also as difficult as ever, but you didn't have to pay attention to that before. Now you have to. Am I clear? :weird:
@New Horizon:
Here's a screenshot of the current version of my script:

Strange, that's exactly what I have but regardless of whether or not I turn around, it still blinds me. Hmmm.
Something may be messed up from some other changes I made, I'll try a fresh install of the editor.
Try removing the distance check and turning when you throw a flashbomb. Just want to know if you get the same results I did.

Yeah Bumbleson, that's where you messed up.
A review -
ZylonBane: Why would it be any more difficult than classic Thief? <-He means Thief 2
Subjective Effect: They drop and go off faster? <-I mean they drop/go off faster in TDS, thus not giving you as much time as in Thief 2

Great work, guys! :thumb: The effect is perfect!
Also, I have been able to look away from the flash and not get blinded. It's tricky, though. A real challenge!

Cool. I guess it's just something else I've messed with. :)
I'll have to work it on out.

Now someone needs to allow blackjacking when blinded.

That shouldn't be too hard really. Haven't looked into it myself.

I have tested the script again today and New Horizon is partly right: The "object in view" condition does not always work. I placed Garrett in front of a wall in the blinding distance and threw a couple of flashbombs against it, each time under the same angle, then tried to look away (down at Garrett's feet actually). No matter how fast I did this, I sometimes got blinded and sometimes not. I guess it's because that condition is a hack, as its comment says, but currently it's all we've got...

Hmm... Maybe that's why I found it to be tricky. :erg: I was turning my back to the flash, BTW.
