But you're still talking about fan mission ideas, which means this should be posted in the FM thread. The thief games themselves have nothing to do with this topic and neither does Thief 2014. If you want to sperg out about your FM ideas, then be consistent and do it in the proper forum, or better yet, don't do it at all.

Having ideas is fine, but you just spam the forum with them.
You create a new thread every single time you have a "brilliant" idea, and each thread disappears into the limbos of the forum a few days later. You could have created a single megathread where you post all the ideas you ever come up with, something like a pit for fm authors who could pick your ideas when they lack inspiration. But no of course, you just pollute the forum with these threads which never lead to any serious discussion whatsoever, and surprise surprise people get tired of it.
It's not a trend towards people's ideas, it's towards your behavior.

Even a cursory glance at previous replies to a downwinder thread reveals the same people posting the same vitriolic guff in response. Personal attacks aren't big or clever. If you don't agree with someone's ideas or dislike their personality or method of communication even, then it's best to steer clear. Downwinder posts generally, not to specific individuals. Yet the same set of individuals take his posts as a personal affront. If it affects you that badly, then you have some serious questions to ask yourself.
This is a fan forum. It attracts all kinds of people from from all walks of life. Long may that continue.
The door should always be open here. No-one should be checking credentials at that door, to see if you are indeed worthy of entry.

That's what the ignore feature is here for. Although the original post is poorly written, this is absolutely the right section; if a thread is not good, let it die instead of spending so much energy putting downwinder down. Squadarofl, get out, get some fresh air, you're being an asshole.

I think Purgator and Briareos H seem to have covered everything. Any repetition of that kind of attack on another member will earn some time out.
Squadarofl's post has been deleted. It was completely unacceptable.
The thread does wander between Thief General and Fan Missions but it can stay here. There are other threads which are not strictly related to OMs.

I've made this quick post on a Sunday morning to pass time while waiting for my friends to come over. This doesn't mean that my life excellent or anything, it just mean that not every angry posts are made by basement dwelling individuals with probably too much time on their hands. Please understand that I usually steer clear of his posts but I felt like it was the time to be vocal about the downwinder problem once and for all. Also, same set of individuals? Sorry but you're being dishonest. Beside, I can assure you that perhaps so far I was the most vocal about this problem but I'm obviously not the first guy he pissed off and I certainly won't be the last.
EDIT: I almost forgot! You said downwinder doesn't target anyone specifically and wonder how he only get angry responses? Then what about the smug "brethern "and betrayer""?!

Okay I'm sorry, I went over the edge with my last post and you won't hear for me anymore since I set his profile to ignore but the problem is still here: why is downwinder still allowed to spam the forums with his threads? The only replies he get are either pity replies, smug jokes or angry rants. I get it, members can always choose to ignore him but didn't you noticed more and more people are responding quite aggressively? Look, even DrK who is the chillest guy I know of went aggressive! Why not telling downwinder to at least not create another useless thread anymore and putting all his ideas in the adequate threads?
