the modern day thief
i think it was suppost to be thief 4 but ofcourse never happend, its a shame too cause i did some missions with part in modern day and i enjoyed it alot
i hope one day maybe we can get a modern day fan mission contest as that would let people add more real world textures to missions/example the mythical soda machine, with diet coke on the choises
the best example of modern day mission is the one cardia made called =forgot name but more recent mission he made of that girls apartment,it was the best modern day fan mission i played, also that one mission that takes place in 1920'? detective set was also amazing
so brethern "and betrayer" if you see this please at least think about a modern day from say 1950's-2000's :)
and the last mission in dce is amazing also, and yes gort makes amazing modern cars
maybe get all modern textures in one place so if anyone wants to make a fan mission they have a set of things ready to go,i am pretty sure most all authors would be more then happy to let other use as long as credit is given :)

another idea i have for a set of missions is to start in say 1950's and each mission is a 10 year span,so first would be 50's,second would be 60's/etc
the themes can be anything
i loved how deaths cold embrace used dates for each mission
ohh when i saw the camvators i was so happy=one of the best old elements ever used in fan missions for emurtion =yes i spelled that bad and word correct did not offer correct choice.

Nice ideas there! Not many people here are fond of real-life inspired FMs, so it would be nice of you to give them life yourself and show us :D

Soo... what's exactly the point of this thread ? Some useless rant ? Another not-so-hidden begging thread for a fan-mission that suits your taste ?

all of the above.

I think I read somewhere that the modern day Thief (sequel?) was supposed to be called "Dagger of Ways" or some such thing. I never thought it could be pulled off in a way that maintained the proper "Thiefy" feel. Perhaps it wouldn't have been as bad as the real Thief 4, but who can say?

ty mctaffer for post you are the only person so far who did not insult my board/post
and yes it would be cool to think how story from thief 3 could lead into thief 4 modern day,i am sure it would have been good

How is what I said insulting? I encouraged you to make an FM since you seem to have lots of ideas.

seems a trend if someone has a idea, then there is always a person who mentions for them to make it themselves, but not everyone has the time/skills/etc
its just a post not saying it had to be a fan mission in the first place
and the idea for the real world items idea, i feel is a good idea, as i think more modern style of missions have a lot of potential since so many of the older idea's have been done to death
i personally feel it would be a real good idea, one day for everyone after they play a fan mission to post what elements were amazing and what wasent good , so over time missions can add in the better elements and redo the elements that were not so liked
most recent example is anyone who does a magical mission should use the lift from the keep mission from "dce" as its i would have to say the best lift for that style ever"just one example" then when anyone decides to make a mission they can access a page that shows what textures/etc they should use for that theme/excluding custom items that person might want to add
just idea's i had

My question still stand: what's exactly the point of this thread ? Speaking about Dagger of Way? Submitting your grand ideas? Praising fan-missions that you liked? Giving us some of your infinite wisdom? :D
Anyway, you're not exactly in the right forum for sperging over fan-missions dude ;)
