I've been busy messing around and learning the editor, and it reminds me of when I tried to learn Woldcraft for the first time. I'd take a reference picture and try to make it and it ended up looking terrible. It took me roughly 4 years of just having fun with hammer to end up being able to make good looking maps. Now im on T3ed :D. joy. I took this reference picture and tried to make it:

So anyways, plz post some pics of some work you guys are proud of so far, I know I will as soon as I get better :).

If I've just invalidated my own entry, well, whatever.
I'll release the map anyway.
Just don't see the point in being anonymous with a bragging rights contest, and frankly, I am proud of what I've done with the place, though it still needs a little touching up.

I'm not sure if I'll make the contest, but I'll try. My confidence in my work tends to deteriorate over time, so I might do a quick beta thing first to get some opinions on whether or not I should release the mission. I'm going to finish it regardless of whether it sees a wide release, since I don't want any more half-finished projects sitting on my hard drive. Plus I'm learning as I go and all that.

Heh, well, as a mission it's not all that good, it just looks kinda pretty because I've been getting the hang of the lights and using a lot more particle effects, in terms of layout the place is mostly corridors with odd art rather than rooms as such, though just as an utterly generic tip:
Build as small as you can.
Cramped with detail and tight corners (and so ZonePortals) seems to look better than big areas - that third picture from Schism is literally so small the door has to open out of the room else you wouldn't fit inside it. (and it would mess up the nice shadow effect from the Viktorola by the window)

Hey cool! Some of those pics from both missions look great! :)
Gonchong how did u do those curved roofs as seen in pic 2? And my fav pic of yours is pic 4 :D
and Ziemanskye Schism looks cool, I really like that last pic you posted, it looks very full and no space is waisted, which is what i like. :)
Keep up the good work, I'm going to go practice some more with t3ed :cheeky:

It's a vault mesh, they're great for adding detail to ceilings.
