Yup, the EXIT GAME option is there. I wonder if I was just blind to it, which would be a bit worrying... Still, the controller bug keeps me from actually being able to play this thing - which is okay, as I'm currently playing Dying Light and Pillars of Eternity, both of which take up a fair bit of time. By the time I return to HLD, I'm sure I can play it okay.

Gotta get to 100 for...something...to happen. I managed to get to 98 so far, but the problem is you can lose your rhythm so quickly, it's hard to pull it off over and over again.

tips found elsewhere regarding the dash challenge:

-Unplug your controller and switch to m&kb
-Go to the dash challenge, put your character near one of the columns of purple recharge tiles
-Put your cursor on top of the middle of the tiles so that when you press spacebar to dash across, he automatically goes back and forth through the tiles without having to move the mouse.
-Mute the sound and just listen to the rhythm of yourself tapping the spacebar, keep it constant.
Also, I probably need to try playing the game using a controller...

I might do that, considering the second part of the challenge requires me to do at least 600 in a row to get. If I do it, I better get something nicer than the little upgrade chip completing the first part gave me.

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend it. I imagine it'd be a little awkward playing with the kb/m.

Finally got into the swing of things. If I was asked to provide review blurb for the back of the box, I would say this game is "Dark Souls made by Studio Ghibli for the SNES".

Still got the weird bug that keeps me from playing this for more than a few minutes; I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if it's addressed by updates, but otherwise I might wait for the PS4 version instead.

Watching videos of people beating this boss, for some reason it looks easier than it is for me, as if the timing is more lenient for dodging those area attacks. I take damage pretty much instantly from them. I wonder if it's not some framerate/refresh issue or something along those lines :/
