I know I dont post often, (on account of my being a big fat lurker), but I do have a favour to ask of you all.
My brother just moved to Bournemouth (UK) from Toronto, where we've lived happily for many years. He's going to be spending the next four years becoming a doctor there. The reason I'm here is because the guy is alone, new to the whole damn country, and on a very tight budget. I miss the bastard and I figured if I could somehow get an xbox360 or something like it, he might have another reason to have people over at his place.
I'm just not entirely sure what course of action to take. Order online from a store in the uk and ship to his address? What would be a decent site for that? Or get one here and ship it over - but I dont know what the voltage/reigon/etc problems are. I'll be looking it up on google, but right now, I'm not exactly sure what to type in. 'How to buy an xbox in the uk from canada and have it shipped to a lo...' rowr.
Advice? :q

JOKE: Probably not "around", but hopefully somebody who lives in, or near will have a good answer for you. :)

Just buy one for him online and get it shipped to him, ebay perhaps?

Get one from game.co.uk and get it shipped to him. I'm sure he'll be fine though. The med students are probably on the lash right now.

I second either game.co.uk or perhaps play.com. There's always amazon.co.uk too. EDIT: and yes, there are regional considerations. The UK version will be a 'PAL' system to be compatible with our television systems, whereas one bought in Canada will probably not be.

I was thinking of those but then don't they require that you ship to your own address first as an order etc?

Amazon certainly allow you to deliver to an alternate address. I'd be surprised if the Game and Play don't.
Be aware that hardware in the UK is hella expensive compared to NA and that your bro may be too busy working and partying hard to play.

As Subjective Effect said, Amazon lets you send items pretty much anywhere; GAME also definitely allows you to send to an alternative delivery address.

My mistake.

You should check if it allows you to ship to a foreign address, though. US Amazon won't ship to an address in Japan, so I kept having books shipped to a friend's US address then mailed to me in Japan, and it was still much cheaper than ordering through Amazon Japan.
Edit: oops, you said UK Amazon so I'm talking gibberish ... sorry. If there isn't a major price difference between countries then yeah, you can go for that.
