Anyone....... help?. Thief Skill

Hi all Taffers,

I'm just in a very bad situation playing mission "Dreamlord, Mission 1: Time is Gold". Things is that I got Stuck on an elevator shaft, in the air... Garret got stuck and the elevator continued down, now I don't know what to do. I just have a FireArrow that help me to unstuck, but I die down.

Any ideas on how to save the whole mission from starting from the Start?

I put the link here with a "quick.sav" file if anyone wanna try unstuck and survive.

I didn't verify this with your quicksave, but...

Press ALT-U. This key is assigned to "Unstick Player" in some Thief 2 NewDark variants, and allows Garrett to act as if he was ascending an invisible stairway. It might get your Garrett out of the "stuck" state. Garrett will then be falling down, but if you press ALT-U again, he should stop falling and ascend again. Thus, use ALT-U repeatedly while falling in order to not hit the ground at maximum speed. It should be possible to get down in one piece with that.

Keep in mind that this most likely is some kind of "debug key combination" invented by the NewDark creator, Le Courbeau, and not something you should normally use during playing. It is easy to get into areas in a misson which should be off limits for the player, and it is often easy to break the game by using this "cheat". So, don't over-use it, and don't use it in anything else than some kind of emergency.

The cheat Beauchlein mentions is not in T2 by default, you need to alter your USER.bnd file

The unstick player cheat only works if you have the command ‘bind u unstick_player' in your USER.bnd file, see this thread (https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152127)

Now delete that code from your USER.bnd, as Beauchlein says it's far too easy to resort to cheating knowing its there.

Don't worry. Thief is nothing with cheats. I play it since it was released.
