If anyone is still having system lock-ups with T3ed I would check your ram. Here's a link to (
http://www.memtest86.com/) memtest.
T3ed would totally freeze my system on every other build and after testing my ram I found out that my first ram slot was to blame (no more ram in the first slot). My third slot went further into the test but froze the system but so far every build I've done has been successful. Here's my specs:
IWill KK266-R (patched bios to disable RAID, not using the RAID channels anymore)
Athlon XP 1800+ (not overclocked)
2 sticks of 256 MB Samsung PC133 ram (was 3 sticks :erg: )
Gainward GeForce 4 Ultra/650 XP (gf Ti 4200) 128MB
Sound Blaster Extigy
Windows 2000 (installed with ACPI disabled)
6 gig hd & 20 gig hd on my 66 MHz ide channels
. . . and a bunch of other crap
Anyway I hope this helps.

T3ed did freeze and I ended up testing my ram again. I think my mb is at fault. It's more stable than it used to be but I can't pass test #5 [Block move, 64 moves] with any of the ram I have at home. I even tested my Mac G3 B&W's ram (PC100 256 MB) and found that my system wouldn't post with one of those sticks so I'm 256 MB short on my mac as well.
Another possible problem . . . all of my ram are Samsungs. Does anyone know if they're consistently problematic? BTW, there's a newer version of (
http://www.memtest.org) memtest (actually called memtest+). It has support for other chipsets.

It's not the RAM. I've got a gig of clean RAM. The machine is brand-new with the latest (and fastest) bells and whistles. It's a software issue.

When I build-all then save, I don't get any lockups.
When I save then build-all, my system freezes when building brushes.
So I make my changes, build, then save. No problems for hours (I'll keep my fingers crossed though).

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, version 5.2 Catalyst drivers....tried the above-mentioned AA settings and I can get further into the building process: 4 or 5 brushes subtracted, then CRASH!, to be exact.
It's an improvement, but not much. Stupid ATI. Time to go out and buy an NVIDIA GFX or something?
Save your money. I have a GeForce 6800GT and it still locks up.

Therefore all systems with GeForce 6800's in them will lock up, just because yours does ? :tsktsk:
Unless you know conclusively the model of video card is to blame, and you've proved it by substitution with a different video card that doesn't crash, thats an unsupportable assumption.
BTW, no lockups with my FX5900XT.
Windows 2000 Pro, Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 1GB ram, SB Audigy 2 ZS.

Maybe you should increase your swap space to 3 gigabytes to remove some of the load.

if you have to shut your PC PSU off, then its most likey your psu dieing thats causeing the crashs.
