I buy a new Asus video card and lo and behold I discover Morrowind came as an OEM extra. I never thought much about playing the game, though I love RPGs. So I decide to install it along with Tribunal. The installation went smoothly and I patched Tribunal. Sunday the game played fine. Monday the game wouldn't load up for anything. I was getting such messages as "Unable to find Bitmap so and so," and "The figure 0 not able to be found," and the infamous "Morrowind has performed an illegal operation, blah, blah, blah."
So I uninstalled, I wiped the file, scanned the harddrive, defragged, end tasked on everything but Explorer, reinstalled but still no luck loading. I got different messages that basically said the game cannot/will not load.
Since I didn't get a Game Manual with the game, does the manual itself tell you what tasks should be closed and what ones need to be running for the game to run? Someone else in another forum said that he had to load and then reboot to get it work. Another one said it is a registry conflict betweeen Microsoft software and Bethesda game software.
My operating system is Windows 98SE and my computer specs meeet and exceed their game system recommendations. Anybody have a clue as to what to do? Thanks ahead of time.

lol, I know what you meant Tuco, and it's well recieved ;)
Oh, I have Windows XP and I know you need... something like svchost.exe running. But if you'd closed that then the game would come up with a playback error and close.
Since you have 98se I can't help much... I just close everything but the system programs.
